Much posher than the fish and chips we'll be having Dove. Nice though the chippy is, I think I'd get a funny look if I asked for lobster
Reminds me of the time I was in a chippy in a less than smart area and asked the girl for a Margharita pizza. It was met with a blank look, till the more experienced wee wumman behind the counter turned to her and said ' that's a cheese 'n tamata' ....
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
No.1 is a proper takeaway chippy with a cafe attached and a slightly posher restaurant upstairs - we ate in the cafe - but Galton Blakiston has a very smart hotel restaurant further up the coast. The thing is they cook what the local fishermen catch - they've obviously caught lobster this weekend - we could also have had Crab Burger and chips
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
We were talking about going up to Cromer this week if the weather's good to do some sunset photography - maybe we should combine it with lunch - huge shellfish fans
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Best seafood meal I've ever had (and I'm a recent convert - used to be very unshellfish) was in a yacht in the Firth of Clyde. Professional cook was in the crew; bought crabs and scallops at the fish quay in Tarbert and proceeded to use every utensil in the galley (including a hammer and a mole wrench) to prepare the meal by the time we got to Lochranza. Absolutely delish, but there wasn't half a lot of washing up!
And great mussels in a pub on the IoW last summer. Awful steak though.
Were you on a mooring in Lochranza Steve? - Beautiful place to spend the night & enjoy a large tot of some local liquid amber whilst watching the sun going down - happy days!

Dovefromabove , glad you had nice time on Norfolk coast , like lobster and crab very much , they do both where we go in Tenby and caught locally , although lobster usually shipped up to London , which is a shame
Nice weather hear in Lincoln , spent afternoon at allottment
just had nice chicken dinner with home grown veg and about to have a little " cat nap " before Strickly

Never eaten lobster. They look like giant cockroaches to me. Think Men in Black

There's a very good seafood restaurant at the harbour at Troon which looks across to Arran. Heavenly - and always mobbed

hope you are all keeping well
On a mooring indeed, Topbird. The rest of the crew went ashore in the dinghy to sample the amber liquid while the mate and I attacked the washing-up.
Have to go back soon
