Afternoon all, Did manage to get some gardening done this morning, weeded, deadheaded and lawns mowed.  Pulled out a couple of plants that were overcrowded, looks so much better now.

Unfortunately had a phone call from the home to say mum had gone into hospital so I have spent the rest of the day with her making sure that she was OK.  Have to say the staff were brilliant.  It looks like she has a bleed from an ulcer in her stomach so she has to stay in for a few days. Hope she comes out before hubby goes in - might be a bit difficult to be in two places at once.image

Ditto everything SGL just said plus congratulations to WW. Had several goes at that Hazard Perception test online when I was bored in the winter - thought it all very subjective. Both OH and I identified several more potential hazards than the official ones on each test. image

Grass cut and edged, deadheading done, few seeds sown, penstemon cuttings taken. Garden looks beautifully lush and fresh after cooler temps and several days of rain. image

Edit to say - sorry to hear about your mum Yvie.

Collected car from garage, it was a support moteur, which I think is an engine mount. The car has been vibrating a bit, it was serviced recently and I told them, but no change so I had its tyres balanced and was told there wasn't much problem, but it still vibrated.

Then on the way home (403kms) yesterday the vibrations were much worse and there was a low deep sort of noise. Garage man said the engine mount had broken and the engine had actually slipped down and I was lucky to get home. Well, why didn't they take any notice when I first thought something was going wrong?

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
