  • Oh Hosta, you are in the wars. You worry me 'cos I am only a year behind you age wise, so much to look forward to eh. image My parents ( & in-laws) are also long gone, my Mum was killed in a road accident 30 years ago and Dad succumbed to lung cancer. Awful as it was it does mean less worry now especially as we live in France.

Was too far on in the thread the other day to join in but I thought we had a lot in common, my first husband and his now husband get on brilliantly, we managed a very amicable split when he realised he had different needs. Unfortunately 2 of his own brothers just couldn't get to grips with the idea and have totally ignored him for the last 15 years, such a shame and completely incomprehensible as to why it should make a difference to them. He was very hurt by it and I can fully understand how your own OH must have felt.

Anyway, like Verdun says just enjoy your day in the garden. image

Afternoon all,  Another lovely day here, warm and sunny.  Popped to the garden centre today to look for a few plants for a couple of containers where the foxgloves have not survived my holiday.  Bought some Autumn, Spring flowering snapdragons and miniture penstemmons need to find something else to go in there but not sure what.

Spent the rest of my day trying to get my sky broadband to work, why is it when I pay a fortune each month any problems result in me crawling about the floor trying to solve the issue.  Trying to hold the phone to my ear while disconnecting cables, pressing buttons, switching things on and off and listening to someone who obviously knows a lot more about such things than I do is not my idea of a fun day. Especially when it results in my back giving up the ghostimage (rant over).

The cause of the problem was a broken router, luckily we had a spare in the cellar which is why I am up and running.  The only problem is that as my back wont let me garden for the rest of the day I may have to result to looking at plant porn and that only ever gets me into trouble, and debt!!!

Jo, let's hope the flying ants and wet paint don't meet each other.

Thanks for the kind words too.

Nice to know there's always someone around who understands / cares.

Hostsafan, you are not getting old, just a spring chicken, with worn out bones! look at all you do in your garden, takes all day to walk round it.

Dove, the other day you mentioned the film 'The Rare Breed', after Brandy had her calf. I was just on line registering the birth and you have to put down who the sire is.When I looked at his pedigree his grand sire was called Udel 1 R51 Vindicator. What a coincidence.image

Hello all - caught up with myself now, so I can catch up with you image

So many in the wars - Mr Yvie and Hosta - and now Yvie image Hugs for all of you.

DD- big hugs for you too. Being a young adult without your mum must have been very hard -  I guess you'd have been about the age of my oldest daughter. I also think we all know you well enough here to say that it's not a  surprise that you achieved an amicable split in difficult circumstances. Shame on his brothers for being dinosaurs. I know someone  who couldn't accept his youngest son easily either. What makes it worse is that he (the father) was the son of the minister in the local church. Whatever happened to being a 'Christian'. image

The sun has come out here. Might have to sneak some ice cream and raspberries later image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
