Result from the topsoil people. The offered to refund the whole £600 because of the couch grass roots. I told them to keep £100 to cover costs of transport etc.
They told me I was very kind and apologised again for the root issue.

we did a night clearance test, not a misplaced dreadlocks in sight! 
Rain gets you out of weeding, but snail/slug patrol efforts need to be doubled in wet weather!
