Well, I'm back from a successful trip out into the wilds of north-west Norfolk. I picked up a package for a friend, stopped off at a little nursery where I bought three deep-red heucheras for £8.50 the three and a 4.5lb cauliflower for 50 pence. I foresee cauliflower cheese for supper for several days!
For part of my trip I'm pretty sure I was being followed by Jeremy Clarkson ... well, how many big scruffy-haired men with one of these do you know?

Right, to answer a few questions, I've had to write down what you asked while I had the right page up.
Lirio, do we eat yabbies? The quick answer is that yes and we have a special net trap that we can put in the dams to catch them, but - but, I'm not really keen and Hubby is. He's an inland boy, I'm a coastal girl and prefer prawns and crayfish from the ocean. I think yabbies taste muddy. I don't think they are threatened though.
Susan Porter, we've not heard of that story, Tissy and the Yabby. It must have been interesting for a young person to receive such a story - well it must have been for you to remember it.
One of seven. I'm photographed the paperwork from the snake scarer and hope you can read it. Let me know if not and I'll try to paraphrase it.
Since it's now 11pm, I might go to bed soon, so please excuse me if I don't reply until tomorrow.
It seems to work. I don't feel comfortable about using 4 x DD batteries (not exactly green), but whatever it takes! We place one below the clothes lines because I've had a few scares there, another near the footpath at each end of the concrete pad behind the house, because one came waltzing along there one day, just as I was about to go outside, and another near a lavender shrub where I saw one last summer, just after I'd been harvesting lavender there! So, there's 4 altogether. If only they'd bellow or growl, but they're so quiet and slinky, you don't know they are there until you see them. Keeps us on our toes from early spring until late autumn.
... It had to be Clarkson Dove - no-one with any taste would drive an Abventador in that colour Are the heucheras to complement your phormium? ...
I'm definitely not a Clarkson fan , but I rather liked the car ... but then I chose a Ford near enough that colour (leased through employers) when I was working ... I like brightly coloured cars - other people can see me coming and get out of the way. Brrrm Brrrrm!!! I think my current car colour is a bit tame (metallic gold) but at least it's a convertible.
Evening all, Sorry to hear about your parking fine RB, don't they give you a discount if you pay early? They normally do.
Have been looking after grandaughter today, such a cutie, had a lovely day. Mind you I had to stay in and wait for Sky man to come as Firstborn is having problems with her internet.
Haven't checked the weather for the weekend but according to all your posts I'm presuming it's going to be rubbish.

Thanks, Pat E, I could read that perfectly. Very ingenious. Does it work? And how many have you got going on your place?

And re the heucheras, yes ... and they're already planted up with the phormium and on the front porch. This is the one I got http://www.perennials.com/plants/heuchera-melting-fire.html x 3

Afternoon all.
I love Heuchera Obsidion, but so do vine weevil, so I've given up on them.
Grass cut , at last and everything set for dinner this evening.
Window guys have been and gone. " crap" aka finials and little crossy things, removed from conservatory roof. How naff they were.
New glass for French window needs replacing as there are tiny spots on in the inside of the sealed unit.. Don't mind, they guys are lovely.
