From my cousins' awful experience the other year, and books I was given as a child, I know that bushfires are terrifying - I applaud your OH and his pals who do their best to keep everyone safe Pat.
A long time ago I was given a Sunday School prize of a book about courageous girls - one of whom was an Australian lass who had laid down over her little brother on a railway track while a bush fire raged over and around them - after reading that I felt well equipped to cope with anything Australia could throw at me ... . I'm a Celebrity seems a little tame after that

I'm on a train heading for the big smoke, and the sun hasn't even peeped over the horizon yet :O. Bit of a shock to the system - but nice, in a way, to be returning to some sort of normality
Bush fires must be a constant worry Pat - your OH is a hero for the work he does
Pat being a volunteer in anything is really difficult these days, i was a member of the local mountain rescue till my knees gave up, there seems to be so many things making demands on peoples time and of course family as well.

Morning Dove. Lovely to get those types of stories when you're young. It equips you for being brave, I think.
Hope the day is ok weather wise for all of you over there.
No overnight frost here in the east Pat, the lowest temp was 2.3C and it's just damp and soggy. I could send some dampness your way if you like

Yes please. I'm already fed up with watering and it's not summer yet!

Thanks Chicky. We just try to fit in as best as we can. (Being newbies, for not being born here).

Good morning Bushman
Knees can really be a problem - think there must be an inherent design fault - I've tried complaining to the Maker but I keep being ignored
