I find this thread to be very difficult to follow sometimes, I work and don't have the time to read back. I often chose not to comment as I feel like it is better to stay out of the way rather than just comment randomly.

I think its okay to just mention your own day, randomlyimage or at least I hope so since it's pretty much what I do image. I always read back but can't remember

Nothing to report here that you haven't heard from me before, except to say, I'm winning image

Morning all. Woke up to gusts of winds blowing the trees every which way outside and the bedroom curtains as well since I left the window open all night. Hubby reports that it was 24c all night.  These gusts are rather nice for a change. I hope it heralds a bit of rain. I need a break from watering wilting plants.  image

So you did. Wintersong. I've been outside watering. The broad beans are looking very sad. We've had high winds all day and still no rain, but the barometer has dropped about an inch, so fingers crossed.image

its amazing how much we all are affected by the weather - you with cold and us with hot - both equally unpleasant. I guess it's more noticeable for people like us on this thread because we love our gardens.  image

There have been more bushfires , this time in South Australia instead of WA. More deaths and loss ofproperties. Hubby and his fire captain have been out clearing fire trails in our district today. He said they had trouble finding one of the tracks it was so overgrown. Bit of a worry if we get a fire there, so it's a good thing they have been out with chain saws etc.

Tasmania has had the predicted snow image on the highest peaks, I think even in Hobart.

What a cheerful soul I am. I think I need some of your UK humour to cheer me up. Thankfully it is morning there so some of you will be on.

The threat from bushfire must be a constant worry Pat image sounds like your hubby does good work for the community image

I know your pain with the constant watering in hot weather, my garden turns into a dust bowl no matter the loam I make or mulching I do image the only up side for me is that it's delightful to spend the time watering at end of the day

Youre right Wintersong. I'll be going out again before dark with the hose and it's the best time of the day, for me.

Hubby has the attitude that if you live in a rural community, you should do your bit to contribute to it. Sadly, not everyone feels the same way, so it often falls back on the usual few. No use whinging though. They soon line up if there is something free on offer in the village. image
