archiepem- don't mention jigsaws!?!?!!!!! I managed to vacuum up a stray piece of mine the other day - haven't touched the jigsaw for about 18months and got it out to start up again. will be searching through the bag though once it needs changing.. yuck!
At least you know where your jigsaw piece is Gillygee - my sil's was in the cat.
DD I googled that garden and it looks great. Why didn't you offer them a week at a reduced rate if he helped you out. Don't stress out. The important things will get done and let go of the minor irritations.
Lesley & Archie have hit the nail on the head, DD - letting go of the little things you can't change, is the key to reducing stress. You work so hard and do so much, you shouldn't beat yourself up about the things you have to let go.
Fidget, I might be able to fit in a Chatsworth visit next week as long as it's not on Friday.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Re Chatsworth - it's a lovely thought, but it's an 8 hour round trip minimum, so probably best to count me out.
Ma is well however she thinks Pa should give up driving the car now - apparently it takes a lot out of him and he spends the rest of the time sleeping - I agreed that he's probably past it by now
I have to laugh, otherwise .........................................
She didn't want me to leave without seeing Pa, so I popped along the corridor and came back saying that he was asleep, she could give him my love when she sees him.
I spoke to the manager who agreed that we can't keep telling her every day that Pa has died - it's too cruel - the best thing is just to go along with her and try to divert her attention ............ but that's hard to do, she's always been a very stubborn woman.
After my visit I popped down to the harbour and bought 3lb of fresh line-caught cod for £10 - bargain!!! That'll feed us tonight and the rest will be frozen. Then I had a packet of crisps and a drink while watching the sea.
On the way home, just outside Norwich, there was a humungous hailstorm - huge hail - I thought it was going to crack the windscreen! OH says there's been no hail at all here He's outside feeding the robin again
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Ha, it worked! Since I live on the border between Yorks and Lancs I thought I'd have Rosa gallica 'Versicolor', the Yorks & Lancs rose (currently in bud in my garden) as my avatar...

Dove, We got the hail shower in Kent which means it must have gone through Chelsea to get here...oh dear
I was in town getting my eyebrows threaded and picking up bird food. OH told me to buy whatever I saw to cheer myself up, something sexy he said, but I only got a Per Una cardy that was in the sales it's really nice but OH isn't impressed
