I think we are all aware Verdun.  I think the idea of accepting people from the border is a good one - they have no horrific journey to contend with and (hopefully) everything will be in place to welcome them.  What is going to happen to all those already in Europe thoughimage.  There will be people with alterior motives but hopefully they will be weeded out (see that: back to gardening)image.  Try to put yourself in the shoes of someone fleeing for their lives.  Women and children first eh?

  • I agree with both Verdun and Kef, think I'll stay out of it too.

  • I think that this is the most serious issue Europe has had to face since WW2 and European governments must work together to deal with this ongoing crisis in a structured and properly thought-out way rather than being  emotional and reactive - the British government along, with most of Europe, has been woefully slow in understanding the nature of this crisis and is only now even beginning to address the complexity of the situation - but I refuse to let these difficulties take away my own humanity and I will respond to other humans in distress as best I can and I'm proud of my son for doing the same.

DD. Did you get in any extra food, drink etc for the forkers who have invited themselves to Charlie's partyimage.  How many rooms have you got anyway?   To be honest I had to pick my son up from bowls last night and it was darkimage.  I'm terrified of driving in the dark so probably won't be with you thenimage.  Have a lovely dayimage.
