Hi lily - a bit of sorting out is going on here too.  I've done most of Mum and Dad's kitchen cupboards and now they've put me to shameimage.  Dove I know the decorating is a pain but you know everything is spic and span.  How many books do you have?

We've also got a heart foundation bag, which I love getting because they will also take books and bric-a-brac.

  • Lesley, I should think we have the equivalent of 6 floor to ceiling book cases of books - we've got rid of some.  Many are art books, also critical theory, philosophy etc, poetry and plays, fiction, cookery, craft and of course, gardening  - we have three and a half floor to ceiling bookcases in the living room, some in the studio and some in the bedrooms.

I never got into Broadchurch - sounds as if it was just as well image

I changed the batteries today - now it seems to be selecting which bird's song to play quite randomly, as if it's on shuffle image  So now we'll know it's "o'clock" but we won't know which LOL

    Afternoon all.

Spent the morning in the garden tidying up and working out where this years seedlings will be planted, when the time comes.

There was a definite air of Spring about, the birds were very noisy, particularly the Dunnocks. I also had a robin following me wherever I went, I love their cheekiness.

This afternoon was not so much fun, mainly spent on the phone, haggling over car price, the saga rumbles on.

    Cooking a risotto for dinner.

    Have a good evening everyone.

Hi everyone,  Well I went to the garden centre and came out with........no plants!  I bought some canes for my sweet peas and a bag of seed compost.   Came home and  didn't do very much.

My clematis arrived from Taylors as usual they were in really good condition, lots of buds and a good size.  At this point it all went pearshaped.

I wanted to put the clematis into the trellised planters I painted earlier in the year but thought they wouldn't like being in with the foxgloves I had already planted in there and I didn't have any suitable pots.

This prompted a second trip to the garden centre with hubby.  Still no plants but.  I bought 4 new large pots, 6 bags of John Innes and 2 bags of potting compost.  So although I didn't buy any plants the bank balance is looking a bit on the sick side.

I am now absolutely kn*****ed from moving pots, planting clematis, replanting foxgloves and lugging bags of compost about.

All that and I still haven't planted any seeds, which was the job for the day.

Yvie, if you think about it, you were actually saving money, if you hadnt brought the pots etc, the clematis may have dried out and died....that would have been a waste of moneyimage
