  • Hi again - glad you're all ok - I've been trying to contact son and his wife - they live just a mile inland from the Suffolk coast - no reply on mobiles or landline all evening - I began to think something was wrong ........... but they're fine - just out somewhere they had to have  their phones switched off.  They're on the way home now - they should be ok - if the sea comes over it'll get two nuclear power stations before it gets to them image

Fingers crossed for everyone on the East coast this evening, hoping that things are not as bad as all the forecasts.image

  • Thanks Gilly - brother is a  potato and veg farmer - he's expecting more than 100 acres to be flooded with seawater overnight - it will be useless for growing anything for some years afterwards image

Sorry to hear about your brothers situation Dove, will he be able to get any compensation for that?

  • No, don't think so.  He'll survive - he's a big farmer, but it'll have an impact - and of course when multiplied up by all the other farms affected it also impacts on the amount of produce he and other farmers are able to supply to the supermarkets and the prices in the shops image   It may also have some impact on jobs in that area image

Sad situation all round Dove, lucky your brother is a big farmer, but I guess for some of the smaller operations it could be a very big problem.

I know we always moan about the prices in Supermarkets, but this just puts it in context.
