    Morning all.

Much needed long lie this morning.

OH made a rather FAB chicken balti last night and methinks rather more wine was drunk than was good for us. hey ho, he's only home 3 nights a week after all.

Have a wonderful weekend one and all.

Morning all,  Haven't long got up.  Unfortunately cold is worse today so the rain outside wont bother me as  I lie on the sofa with a cuppa.  Think I'll send hubby for some choccy biscuits.

Busy day for me as the AP's are coming for lunch tomorrow (see previous posts for menu image) and some tidying in the house is required if they want somewhere to sit image and the same goes for outside image

Best I crack on really...... esp as I don't have a lovely cooked brekkie to distract me image

    Hi All,

Quick coffee break. Fretting over my rockery, been planning it for months, shovelling rubble & rocks for weeks, had a friend help with the soil and rocks last week and now I am not sure it looks like I wanted it to look. I know it's early days (like day 1) but I was hoping for a more natural 'rocky outcrop' kind of look. My friend who did a lot of the heavy lifting didn't seem to understand my idea and I was too polite to stop him, didn't want to seem ungrateful. Hopefully when the plants mature it will look better. Here is a before and after pic, hopefully 12 months on the after pic will be much improved. image

I got up at 4 a.m. not intentional. Last 2 mornings I was out gardening by 6, got up, went into the kitchen, it was 4 a.m.!Oh, well, put on the washing, watered and checked my 2 greenhouses, (third now empty)Got some Wilkinson Sword single handed shears, 18 months old, probably used less than 12 months, they have given up cutting.  E-mailed the company where I purchased on Amazon, says you will get a reply with 3 days - nope!  It was brilliant sun shine, very close, no wind.  Put out the washing, no sun!!! dog had used very heavy cotton rug on conservatory, as loo paper. Had to put  it in the tumble dryer, which gave up.   To be fair we have had it over 15 years, dont know exactly long.  Hubby said it was raining, got the washing in,probably 6 spots of rain, washing back out. So tired now, needing to get in the garden.

    Anybody .......please ?

When I see so many perfect roses on here , we just plant and hope for the best , we do not use any sprays or anything to combat insects et al.

These are nice but wonder what causes the holes in the leaves?

Dachalover - it looks a bit like Superstar http://www.classicroses.co.uk/products/roses/super-star/ but it's impossible to do a real ID online as colours aren't always true in photos, plus there's so much other information to take into account, scent, habit, foliage, frequency of flowering etc - have a look at the search facility on the lefthand side of the Classic Roses site I've linked to.

Bound to be some sort of pesky insect or it's babies eating rose leaves. I don't use any chemical sprays on roses. They kill good insects, like ladybirds, as well. You can spray with a soap solution for greenfly, but they aren't the hole makers, they suck sap out of new shoots.

Wonky is now on the train back home, laden with a large pyracantha, some Spanish Chicken for OH's supper, a Cromer crab and asparagus for her supper and some other bits and pieces.  She's been a wonderful Under Gardener - lugging rocks around the pond, sorting stacks of pots, shovelling compost and crawling on her hands and knees finishing off planting the snowdrops and lots of other jobs that needed doing.

All done just in time - the heavens have opened and the plants are all being watered in beautifully - Thank you Wonky ((hugs)) image  xxx
