  • Thanks Verdun image  we had some lovely weather - only a little rain, lots of sunshine, two afternoons in St Ives just laying on the sand enjoying the warm sun (after having had very good lunches in the Rum & Crab Shack image).

So very sorry to hear about your niece's friend - heard about it when we were down there of course - a complete tragedy and waste of a fine young life - from what we read and heard he was a lovely young man - I hope that in time his family and friends will be able to take pride in their memories - but for now feelings must be very raw.  Our sincere sympathies to all who loved him

    Dove , you're too kind.image

You know where we are now, so no excuse not to make a return visit one day.

Did you go to the Hepworth and Tate whilst in St Ives? We fancy a trip there later this year.

    Devon.
  • Praise where praise is due Hosta - we had a really lovely time with you both and Lyn and her OH, and the chutney is to die for, and the breakfast was out of this world - do thank your lovely OH for us.

We went to the Tate (we always do) and enjoyed most of what was on show - looking forward to seeing the planned extension too.  We didn't go to the Hepworth garden - we had planned to, but on both days we were seduced by wonderful lunches in the Rum & Crab Shack and then were unable to move further than the sandy harbour beach to lay on the sand and soak up the sun all afternoon image

Oh, and to buy myself a really fab watch image ........... long story image

  • Oh, and if you're going to St Ives go to the Park & Ride at Lelant Saltings and catch the train £4 Day Return and no bother re parking etc.  http://www.visitstives.org.uk/visitor-information/getting-to-st-ives/st-ives-branch-line-park-and-ride

(Trying to park in St Ives is hell on earth!).
