Morning/afternoon all. No t'interweb yesterday so just catching up with you all now.
Wet and windy here too...sigh...
Hope you feel a bit better today Panda.
Perhaps Hosta should have come home via Pat's just to ease him in gently..
No turkey here for C'mas - not enough of us to eat it, and I'm not having turkey sandwiches, fritters, risotto, curry etc for a week
Best wishes to everyone else who's under the weather just now. So many infections and viruses going around at this time of year - it can be hard to avoid them.
I seem to have missed DD and her Santa outfit Lesley. What on earth are you up to now DD!!
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
We have an aga thing too (other makes are available) - ours is a woodburner, and powers the hot water and half the radiators too. Saves us a fortune in gas bills ....in fact I think we might have recouped the intial outlay by the end of this winter. Plus it looks lovely. We have a generator in the garage too - self sufficiency is the way forward
Get well soon poorly Panda
And welcome home Hosta - sounds like a great holiday
Fairygirl, thats a good idea. Why didn't Hosta think of that? I resorted to the air cond today because the heat made me feel a bit off. I've opened the door now at 7.10pm, but it's a bit still and a bit oppressive. There is a southerly buster predicted again tonight, but who knows what we'll get.
Sorry you are all feel cold and some of you with colds and sniffles.
Make you rest and recover properly Panda! We don't want you ill for Christmas.
I'm in the Fidget group: awful oven that barely gets cleaned, I had to cook this weekends birthday cake for an extra 3/4hr because it refuses to get warm: whole truck smelt of cake as we drove down to the in laws as it was a literal straight out of the oven into the packed vehicle and cool down on the back seat!
Unsurprisingly we too have choosen the most expensive new units and fittings for our new kitchen (we obviously have good taste). When one sales person mentioned costings to me (scruffy jeans, scruffy shirt, hair that looks a mess no matter what you do to it, hands that look like they know their way around a lorry gearbox) I just laughed and retorted to my partner "I told you buying me a new boat for my birthday was terribly silly just before we redecorated the house. I suppose I'll just have to cut back on manicures for a few weeks if you're still wanting that Range Rover too".
As the mock argument ensued (partner was not given up his bespoke colour finish even if it did cost double the kitchen) the sales assistant suddenly became so helpful.
Incidentally my new speed boat is radio controlled and pootles around the pond with much amusement. But it doesn't pay to judge a person by their muddy shoes.
Right. Best get the kettle on. Anyone for crumpets?

Fairy DD is doing a run round the town dressed as Mrs Santa. Where does she find the energy?
Just seen that Monty has got a new golden retriever puppy called Nell
