Bathroom and downstairs loo gleaming, the kitchen floor has been washed and there's a load in the washing machine. Now I'm off to the farm shop - can I get anything for anyone?

I too am annoyed with the weather Pdoc, OH all set to help in garden and it's drizzling horribly, typical. I don't think we have snow forecast though.
Update on catflap, cat came in through it last night and this morning also went out of it, did take half a chicken to tempt him and a fight with some sticky tape ( all done in pj's), good job we have no neighbours. Hopefully as he gets used to it won't have to be quite such a performance.
My seeds have made no movement that I can see yet.
No problem with nuisance calls here I just ask them to speak in English & they hang up.
Btw, I bought nyjer seeds for the birds the other day & they are making ever such a mess with it, sure they are wasting half of it, any ideas on the best way to 'serve it up' ?

Hi Welshonion, seeds are in a wooden little bird feeder with a slit in the bottom, not mutch of a ledge for them to stand on, perhaps too big an opening?
Quite right about cat coming in from cold/rain, but very reluctant to go out, sits mewing for me to open the door. Hoping he will soon get used to the idea of freedom & independance.

Have decided it's too cold to garden and I'm too tired. So today I'll be mainly washing, drying and reading gardening books. Oh and looking at plant porn - I have all that empty space to fill.
Yvie the snow was 8 or 9 this morning, really came down, but went very quickly
Took george to northycote farm, he only went a little way from the car, but had a good wonder round, further than he has in a while and met lots of other dogs, wish i vould drive, so we could do that more often! Hes zonked now,so must have had a good time
Have tided up and done a bit of a clean, not as good as Dove or Yvie
DD glad the cats getting the hang of it
I thought it was mainly finches that eat niger seeds? Put some in my garden but it went bad as there were no takers!
Stay warm SGL, you dont want to slip, think you should stay in
P'doc, sorry about your car, have you given any thought to what you fancy for the next one?
Went to the GC, but was ever so good, only got a wax melt to disguse the smell of flatulent dog! Was very tempted by lily of the valley and jasmine, but the jasmine was almost 7 quid, just for a little one! OH had a jumbo hot dog and 4 doughmuts to keep his strength up while we were walikng round

Pdoc - if you have to get a new car you could find another life for the old one http://www.motherearthnews.com/organic-gardening/greenhouse-on-wheels-zm0z12amzhun.aspx

On cat flaps; they soon learn if you shut them out. They do not need to be tempted with anything, especially if it is raining!

afternoon all .wet and wild here
Good call to stay out of the garden today. The wind is really blowing and sleet is falling. Yuk.
DD, you need a special type of feeder to feed niger seed otherwise it all spills out - the special feeders have very tiny holes - http://www.arkwildlife.co.uk/Item/Bird_Feeders~Niger_Seed_Feeders/BLI/Bird_Lovers_Niger_Feeder.html
