  • It's as damp as a damp thing that fallen in a loch up here today. Still, won't have to water the garden for the rest of the week. It's my own fault for having days off from work. What's that, night shift monkey? You'd like some sunshine so you can go outside? Afraid not..image

Trying to plant what I'm going to plant in the metre and a half square piece of front garden that I'm away to lift stone chips off. Heavy soil, though the compost bin will sort that out. Gets strong sun morning and afternoon in Summer but is pretty much in the dark winter and spring, so was thinking a small shrub of some sort and then bulbs for spring/summer/autumn.

No Dove, you acquired seeds at Barnsdale, remember?

I'll pack a small plant in the snowdrop bulbs. Expect a parcel this week. Is there somewhere  shady it can be left if you are not in?

Morning all. Dull here - and the weather is like that too....image

More rain coming tomorrow Jimmy image

Work for me - might get something done later though if possible. Have you thought about something like an ornamental pear Jimmy? I had one in a previous front garden which was lovely through spring and summer  - same sort of aspect as you describe.

Good luck to chicklet - almost there image

Tremendous result Woody - and well deserved after all your work.

Right - I'm offski. Catch you all later image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Good morning, mist on the hill, not looking hopeful

Woody you must be very chuffed! Well done, terrific result. Photos?

Jimmy keep us posted on what you decide to plant, I could use some ideas

    have a good day!

Hostafan - I dress up all day at work: today I will be in my mechanics overalls, tomorrow I'll be a WPC, Friday is a paramedic day, over the weekend it'll be a Firefighter...

Unfortunately non of my large selection of uniforms are quite suitable for weddings. When it comes to everyday I just want to put on clothes and non have to think about it!

Right. I'd best go and fire up my LandRover - the boss wants to have a huge move around of the vehicles in the museum so we can better display them. Unfortunately several are pending restoration so need assistance to move: good job I didn't buy a Volvo as my personal car because I'm not strong enough to push this lot!

Ah!  Light dawns and memory begins to  creak into action - but don't think they got sown - I'll have to look in my seed tin  - it's been a funny old year image   I'm working on getting things back on track (until the next hiatus) so thank you, that would be lovely image  Yes, the postie leaves packages in the shady corner behind the clematis - we've got him well trained image

Good morningimage.  Thought I'd nip in quick before my 'post box' disappears again.  I signed in and out so many times tester day and it works for a while and then turns itself off.

As Fairy, LilyP and Jimmy have said the weather coukd be betterimage.  Shopping for two nieces birthdays today so will be trawling the shops.

Clari there can't be many people with a wardrobe like yoursimage

DD take deep breaths, relax and go with the flow.  I'm sure no-one comes to an open day to look for things to criticise.  You'll be fineimage.

Dove, could you PM me your address again. I cant access all the old messages any more, so all the people I sent seeds to I have lost the addresses.

I have put a geranium palmatum seedling in as well. it was growing in a crack by the greenhouse. It may not survive, but its pot luck.

Morning all! Woken with a cold, so thanks to the friend that stopped me for a chat in the street and then told me he was "full of it!" image

Clari I take my hat off to your many skills. I am humbled.

WW the Mr Benn reference made me titter.

Overcast here this morning with no wind, so looks like not much sun for a while.

Need to call dentist as the tooth I didn't have filled in Jan woke me up, so maybe I WILL have it filled after all.

    Enjoy Tuesday.
