Evening all, Have finished planning my pots and baskets.  Have quite a lot of seeds to plant.  Only have a small greenhouse so might have to buy some  plants.  Found that a couple of pots have cracked this year so will have to get a couple of new ones.

Below is a picture showing some of the new spaces I have created for planting. Those two roses have a long way to go up the obelisks.

Looks lovely Yvie, have you got your obelisks well pushed in the ground. I have to put 3ft stakes in mine! I love the curves in the lawn and the seat is gorgeous.

  • It aint sundy RB! Only bother with gravy on sundays, even then it usually takes me 2 attempts! image

Evening all. Last stop before bakery shifts, yes bekkie I am up at stupid o'clock but I've also sobered up someimage

Glad everyone has enjoyed their evening, especially KEF on her B day and Yvie for her amazing efforts in the garden! You certainly beat me image and deserve a lovely beautiful little sanctuary this summer sitting at your bench with a glass of wine or four image

Night night from me, hope everyone enjoys their weekend

Thanks everyone, I am a bit worried Lyn about the obelisks, I suppose they are down about 1ft, what does everyone else do.  Didn't want to concrete them in, so they are just pushed down.

Never had a garden with straight lines, don't know why but they just have to go in favour of curves as soon as I move in.

I wondered what a geezer was as well.

  • The obelisks are usually fine pushed in that far, just check the joints yearly as they sometimes come loose and then the whole thing leans a bit! image, ive got two, only cheapo things holding up a rambler (never pruned) and a rampant v.creeper, i was aiming to form a sort of canopy, its really just a mess, but the obelisks are still standing after about 5 years image

Gosh winter i would be flat out after that these days, you wild child!image hope the early start isnt too bad! image
  • Glad im better at growing tthan cooking RB!image

Yvie, ive had arches collapse under weight, maybe ive been lucky with my obelisks, possinly safest to follow RBs advice image
