So sorry to here that LP.

    Morning everyone.

    SM done.

Wind here terrible, too dark when I went out to see any damage, can't put it off for much longer though.

Had some really good news yesterday, my pension has been up-graded, they have finally accepted that the NHS would not employ me as a doctor.

    Hope everyone else is safe.

    Morning all.

Been up for 1h30 Clari, but plumber hasn't come yet. At least there isn't a frost and it's quite mild.

Morning all. Late this morning as I've slept poorly it sounded as though the roof was coming off. Looking out I can't see any damage but bet there is some at Mum's. Will have to go and see later this morning.

LilyP I'm so sorry that you've lost your tree image  thankfully no harm done to your GH this time.

Good news Pdoc hope it's good news about the garden as well.

    Lizzie hope he's turned up.

Clari aren't you a young un image good article and lovely picture of you.

Interesting about the locks on bridges, I thought someone had nicked the bikes.

Thoughts with all who are still in the gales and those without power image

Finally OH is off this weekend starting today! So hope to make a dent in the packing and trips to the tip! God knows what I'll do if the sale don't go through! Couldn't face all the un packing! image

Thank you for pm Chicky but so strange it wasn't me who posted! I did a bit of investigation and it seems some one else joined the forum about a week after me and chose same name!! How weird is that! Of all the names to choose! Bet if we had money on it, it wouldn't have happened! image

So to save any confusion I am beausmum all one word with pic of my beautiful bulldog and the other lady is beaus mum! Gap between the Words and no pic! image

  • Oooh! I love the article, Clari!
And the lovelocks, I've heard that in Paris they have to literally replace certain parts of the bridge because it gets so weighed down with locks. I think it's a really sweet idea, but the lockers should be a bit responsible about where they lock them.

Thoughts with all those who had nasty gales last night! Here in the south it was quite calm last night compared to the rest of you- my bucket just sort of rolled around a bit. I think the buildings sheltered us a bit.

LilyP, I'm sorry about your poor tree! image But at least noone was hurt.

It's a bright morning this morning! I hope everyone is good today- I'm repotting some more garlic today and ordering some seeds online. Hope everyone has a great one and my thoughts to those who are tidying up image

I hope all is well with lilly pilly and the snapped tree. We had a row of huge very old beech trees along one of our bounderies here, I had them cut to about 15/20 ft maybe. Greaf cost involved but it was that or the roof.

At our previous house we had a whopper but the Electric company paid to have that down.

Lovely day here, wish I was out! Will try for a walk around the garden later. Its forecast to rain at 3pm.

I cant understand why people want to decorate bridges or anything with items that dont belong. We have a lovely woodland walk that we used to enjoy, at the end is a beautiful waterfall, but somehow people have been allowed to decorate it with bits of ribbon, wool, soggy teddy bears and soft toys, wet labels, necklaces and everything else you can possibly dangle, absolutely spoilt it now.

Sorry if you like this sort of thing..... I am just a GOW today! Probably best if I dont post.

Plumber has beenimage, was a blockage in the pump.

How sad about your tree LilyPilly, but thank goodness it wasn't near your house.

Nice to see Clari, but I expected her to be young, from past posts. There is quite a big age range on here, anyone remember young Cody? Then there is Happy Marion with all her energy, aged 86.

  • I am curious to see how old everyone is! We should post a photo of ourselves, if possible image

    Good morning allimage

Sorry about your tree LilyPimage.  I didn't sleep a wink all night because of the noise and crashing sounds.  We have been lucky and all the roof tiles seem to be ok.  A small tree has fallen over the back gate from what I call the council wasteland so will be clearing that after a sleep.  Neighbours suffered greenhouse and polytunnel damage.  Two huge beech trees are down on the back lane.

Here's hoping your Mum hasn't suffered much damage KEFimage

Hope you get completion on the move soon Beaus And can relax a bitimage

Good luck with the plumber Lizzie - I hope he can get you up and running very soon.

Can't see Clari's pic yet - have to wait till I can get on the laptop.
