I think it may just be worms Lesley....image

Such is life. I need a car - it would make my life extremely difficult without one. I'm hoping that's the last major outgoing on it for a while though. what with the boiler as well it's been an expensive start to the winter....image

Clatty day here. Do I need to translate that for anyone? image

Must get on with the ironing now that the wash is done. I'm making a lardy/seed thingy for the birds at the same time but it's leaking so having to do it in stages. Hope the feathery b*****s appreciate it image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • Very frosty here earlier and new grasses looked great. Lawns cut yesterday ( last time?) and compost turned, surprisingly well rotted if not actually ready yet. Should be good in Spring? Now covered up and cooking I hope. Another bed dug over for replanting.

Sorry for your news YvieSt. Hope your Mum's local hospital is as good as ours. Went there last evening to see 2 new CT scanners officially launched, paid for by public donations. Had planned to buy one new one, but had so much money donated they refurbished the other to brand new standards. So can see more people more quickly ( e.g. stroke victims) and can do new things ( e.g. scan hearts for problems, non- invasively). Apparently it has given the staff a huge boost in morale. Now collecting for Breast care unit, another cause close to my heart.

Just back from Bath to see Christmas market. Only bought some English wine. But a nice visit, very good Hotel outside the city, and best veggie restaurant anywhere for lunch. image

Big Christmas music concert tonight, choir ( 120 singers) and Royal Marine band ( 45 musicians) Should be quite a din.

    Very successful thanks Lesley image

Just having a coffee to celebrate - then off to catch the train home. Parking this time of year stresses me out, so I'm letting the train take the strain !

Hi Woody enjoy the din image CT scanners are shared by hospitals here meaning patients have to travel image

Go on Fairy what is clatty ?

Sunshine here today but chilly, now blinking cold and curtains closed.

Mum's telephone repaired, engineer came early in the time slot imageNot sure if I'm pleased it's now working without a crackle, might mean long chats imageimage

My blackbirds are back in numbers food on the ground being scoffed rapidly as are the windfall chopped apples. If they dare mess on my GH they are in big trouble image

Same as minging, manky, clarty, bogging KEF image

I have a mental picture of your green house now. With a bit of luck it'll do as shading for the hot weather next year...image

Glad you had a successful day chicky. Lesley - I've done no Christmas shopping. It'll get done the last week when I'm off work and twiddling my thumbs. Don't have much to get these days anyway. I have bought some cranberries to make my sauce...does that count? image

Ooh I'd love that concert Woody - enjoyimage.  Many moons ago I lived between Bath and Bristol and there were no Christmas markets then but I suppose they're relatively new everywhere.

Well done chicky.  You can celebrate with something stronger than a coffee laterimage

KEF I'm not sure about clatty but think it means the same as clarty if that helpsimage

Glad your Mum's phone is sorted and yes you probably will have longer callsimage.  I say I'll give Mum a quick call and am lucky to escape within half an hour.

If you bought loads of cling film and covered the greenhouse you could just pull off the bird's mess.  Cost a bit thoughimage

Guides thingy went very well thanks image We raised £64.10 for the Catherdral, not bad at 50p a go on the Human Fruit Machine (3 girls stand in front of boxes of fruit and, following a roll of the hands pull out a fruit at 'random'. You win a sweet!). It is now a tradition as we have been doing this for the last 15 years at least image

Fairy (and KEF), when asked for a translation my other half gave me dreich image
