Bought a bag of Morrisons own brand MPC, seems a finer grain than the growmore stuff I last bought. Wouldn't use it for fine seedlings, but seems like it would be ok for chunky seeds. It does have a faint pine scent as there is a bit of half composted wood chip in it, though at least its small bits as the lot seems to have been sieved.
I've had a bonfire. Not very environmentally friendly I know, but had piles and piles of rubbish and there is something so satisfying about a good fire, brings out my inner caveman.
Labelled all the plants I am taking to BIL, so he can start a garden. Quite nice to think that most of his plants will be clones of mine.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
Yvie there are times you have to stop flogging a dead horse. Just concentrate on your own garden and let him realise the difference, I'm very impressed with Mabel, what a kind little girl
Your house is looking great now, ighten, what a lot of work you've done.
Yviestevie, for a ghastly moment I thought SIL had been let loose in your garden!
Spent the morning weeding. Back from supermarket. Got lots of dog food for house sitter to feed Tigger and stuff for making lunch sitting in the airport on Thursday. The strike is off , if the French papers are correct.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Anyone here know anything about hairy legged Bumble bees? I have just seen 2 collecting nectar from a Pulmonaria and I have not seen anything like them before.

I love a good fire, be it camp, cooking or bon Not been brave enough to have a bonfire here, although I do have one of those metal bins with holes in that I have thought about using for my "shredding"
Yvie, what a good thing you can let off steam on the forum...
Great to see you again, Beaus Mum, and those pics of your garden are fab. Looking forward to seeing it all in flower later in the year.
Dove: my dad put down some paving behind the house where I grew up, but refused to call it either a patio (foreign) or a terrace (only for stately homes, apparently). (Yes, I learnt my pedantry from him!) So it became known as the Paved Area. Descriptive, but boring... Not sure what to call my circular seating area, which is slightly sunken and gravelled. Any suggestions?
Off to see Mum, then into the garden to dig up moss.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Pdoc - how did you manage a bonfire? Probably easy, but I spent hours trying to start my new incinerator. Would never make an arsonist
.
