Evening all, Hope everyone is OK, haven't looked back as I'm assuming you have all been chatterboxes while I have been away.

Have finally got the back garden into some semblance of order after the hols.  Have lost a few plants and a couple of Astilbes are still in the balance (fingers crossed).  That will teach me to go away for 3 whole weeks.

Had some bad news yesterday.  Hubby had a problem with the sight in his eye while we were on holiday and after spending all day in casualty yesterday it appears his retina has become detatched - no idea how.  Apparently it had been partially detatched for some time and finally broke away totally.  He has to have an op in a week or so (waiting for a letter from the hospital) although they are not sure if it will do any good, so it's a bit of a worrying time.

Hi from Kingswinford in the West Midlands

Sorry to hear your news Yvie - hope the op is a success & everything works out ok.

Sounds like everybody else has been busy (especially the painters).

We have been on a bike ride today. Did 43 miles which I know is not far for serious cyclists but it was a bit far for me. My btm is a tender at the moment image

Went through some very pretty villages & stopped for lunch in Laxfield where Dove met Busy Lizzie a few weeks ago. Sank a pint of Adnams Broadside in (for me) record time and demolished a doorstep beef & horseradish sarnie with sauté potatoes. Was not ladylike at all but I was ravenous! Popped in to the church afterwards on BL & Dove's recommendation - definitely worth a visit.

Good day all round but need to be careful how I sit tonight image

Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down

Worrying time for you and OH Yvie.  Really hope that all goes well.  Did you have a good holiday?  It must seem ages ago already, as does mine.

Well done the painters and decorators.  Are you both available for hire?

Sounds like a great day Topbird.  Think you should lie down now if it's too sore to sit.  Hope everything still moves in the morningimage.

    Sleep well tonight lilyimageimage.
