Jimmy I suppose I just wanted to know if what I saw was a real type of bee, if that makes sense.

How can you lie there and think of England
When you don't even know who's in the team

    S.Yorkshire/Derbyshire border
  • Yeah, makes sense. They are one of the solitary bee species in the UK. Female mates and then lays individual eggs in chambers in an earth banks, fills it with a drop of pollen and nectar then seals it up.

It's been a magnificent day, OH has a touch of sunstroke although the pergola got put up before his mega headache kicked in.

Afraid this is the only decent picture so far since the sun is really bright, my camera wont adjust lower than 100 speed and I can't find my software that adjusts brightness digitally.

Anyhow, you get the idea image

Son's are suitably sated on Mum's cooking and busy downing bottles of Cider, I'm off for a long soak in the bath, hands feet and hair feel rough as old rope, lots or finishing off and planting to be done this week image

and I've got a pair of sparrows in one of our newly installed nest boxes, well that didn't take long now did it image

Fabulous news SGL, you will absolutely love it.  It's much better than being a parent, all the fun and hardly any of the responsibility.image

Wintersong pergola is looking lovely can't wait to see more photos.

I agree, drinks on the terrace sounds so much better than drinks on the patio. Miss Marple rather than Hyacinth Bucket don't you think.

Well I have inspected the Wisteria and unless I am mistaken there are no flowers on that there plant.  All apple pips and no grapes, it's going to meet its maker and I will have a fine time choosing something new to go in what is, without doubt, the sunniest and best spot in the garden.
