Hi folks, I'm home. What a change for the garden in two weeks! Rampant weeds, flowering rhododendron and my new fabulous amelanchier plus brunnera, pulmonaria, dafs and tulips image.

Within less than 24 hours I was at the GC ,jet lag or no! The White amelanchier and White rhodo needed a new white weeping prunus to balance them along with blues underneath ( muscari, primulas and something like aubrietiia). imageimage

Nice to see you back Mrs G image
  • Evening all,

Busy day weeding but didn't get around to potting on unfortunately, not too many weeds but entwined around all the perennials so very fiddly. Looking much better now. image

BM, your garden looks amazing, going to be super come summer. I keep looking at my bare patches too (after being a bit ruthless) and worrying, but I am sure it will soon be full to bursting, patience, patience, patience. image

Ighton, hello, not seen your posts before but your garden looks super too, how lovely to have a project. image

WS, nice pergola, what are you going to grow over it? image

Congratulations SGL, something very exciting to look forward to. image

We are now calling our little corner of flagstones 'the trellis terrace', I was saying the seat by the Daphne but OH kept looking at me blankly. image

Meal at college was lovely, as always, One bit of drama, poor woman on the table next to us passed out cold, fell like a stone, I honestly thought she was dead, she didn't move for 5 minutes, and then came too right as rain. I am sure she will have a big bruise on her head tomorrow, she went with such a bang. apparently she has low blood pressure. I had to have an extra cocktail to get over the shock. image

Took pic today in same spot as last year. Last year's pic looks greener but close up was a lot of weeds, this year's looks bare but like BM the good stuff is yet to show up (fingers crossed). Hope next year's will be closer to what I am aiming for; patience, patience, patience. image

This year (2015) with new member of the family of course.

Good evening to you all, posting an unidentified seedling on another post now, you will have to be very good to name it I'm sure. image

Missed you there DD - love a photographic diary - its amazing to look at how things change without you really noticing. Although in this case, the changes are pretty dramatic. You'll need to make that photo an April tradition .....make sure you keep the same hat for that element of continuityimage

My garden was a lot more advanced last year too DD, OH reliably informs me that we had a much warmer start to spring image I don't remember but my photo journal backs up the story

Anyways, great job done, that border looks set to leap.

Welcome back Mrs G and ighten, image

Beau's Mum, what a lovely job you've made on your beautiful garden, you should be proud

Re what to grow up the pergola?  No idea yet, probably clematis and something else but nothing poisonous as Flynn tends to obey me 90% of the time and then runs away with something he's found and chews it up before obeying me again image

SGL, many congratulations!  Being a nanna/granny is wonderful.  image

Hmmm.  Colosseum?  Amphitheatre?  Maybe a trifle grand, since it's only 10 feet across...  image

General view of top two terraces, another wall, lawn and beds lower down, also another lawn and bed on other side of house.

    Congratulations Lily!

DD, looking good, what a lot of work you've done. I think you look slimmer than last year, or is that because of the running?

I was working in the garden until it was too dark to see properly, then I came in and did a load of ironing.
