Blue sky has finally arrived.. Looks like the first of the tulips may open later this week. On the side of the track. Been a mixed bunch with quite a lot of no flower heads. May have to improve the ground here as theres a lot of rubble that was moved to create the track in the soil.
this gives a better idea
In the front lane the Fritillaria and Primroses have been putting on a great show.
Think some of the clumps of Daffs need splitting next year though - must remember.
tea Break over, back to the endless task of pointing whilst its sunny
Thanks for the Wisteria pic chicky. Will check when I go home but I have a feeling I am going to be disappointed.
Pond looks beautiful BM glad you are getting things sorted bit by bit. Beautiful weather here in Worcester, took Mabel to the park this morning to watch the ducks and the swan sitting on her nest. She spent half an hour poking sticks through the fence so that the ducks would have enough to build their nests, bless. Tried pointing out that they could fly and get their own but she was having none of it.
SIL spent a lot of time sorting out his garden over Easter.
He has shaped all the bushes into lovely different sized round balls including, red robin, escallonia, pieris and philadelphus.
Refused to cut budleja down any further than 4ft saying he will lose all the flowers (it's a nice vase shape with a flat top).
Hacked the top of a huge conifer and moved some flowering shrubs underneath it.
Built a raised bed about 18" up the trunk of a cherry tree and topped it off with chippings to keep the weeds down (didn't remove any first and left the huge patch of beautiful cyclamen that grew under there insitue - oh and no weed supressing blanket, apparently you don't need one if you cover the weeds with soil.
Planted out loads of new bedding plants saying that the garden centre wouldn't sell them if they weren't meant to go outside.
I have tried on numerous occasions to give advice re the garden but he is determined to do it his way so now I smile and nod.
Hello again - back from a quick dash into the city via the GC - I needed some more MPC and seed compost and a few packs of seeds - just popped around the back where the nearly dead section is - I've treated myself to a Ceratostigma willmottianum 'Forest Blue'. £6.99 instead of £10.99 - it's just coming into leaf and I can't see a thing wrong with it - I've always wanted one - I think it'll be good in the sunny part of the Wilderness - I might have to enlarge it a bit - the sunny bit isn't very big
Panda, I too have a terrace and not a patio - two reasons - patio is Spanish and I'm in the UK - strictly speaking a patio is an inner courtyard surrounded by a building - my terrace stretches the full width of the house and is raised up (a little bit) from the garden (and as you know, I'm a bit of a pedant ) Does that make four reasons?
Ighten - that's looking lovely

I also agree with Dove about the pics Ighten, that is looking lovely
