Sadly, only 10 per cent of the money made from theTower of London poppies will go to charity - the rest going in production costs and other overheads. Nevertheless, a wonderful sight and as the saying goes, 'every little helps'.

  • Didn't think the charities would get the whole £25, but 10% of that seems nothing at all, what a shame.

It's like the price of most things, the costs of transport, packaging, processing, admin etc are usually much higher than the cost of actually making the object and form a large proportion of the selling price - ask M&S

Reminds me of milk, the farmers don't get much of the price.

Hope Doc visit goes well with son DD. They found I had a heart murmur when I was pregnant, but it turned out to be harmless.

I'm helping with a church charity Quiz and Curry tonight in local village hall.

Sky is blue, sun is shining, but it was only 3° at 9am.

  • Hello all, thanks for all hugs and thoughts, luckily nothing to worry about, all clear, very thorough test, very technical & futuristic, got colour printouts too. Seems he is just so skinny they can hear far more noises and vibrations than normal.  Nice to be reassured. image

Bekkie, I have had same problem with stray cat and hedgehogs, shame. image

Now back to the garden whilst it is nice, bit fresh though. image
