Dove I don't do push bikes, fell off one 35 yrs ago on a busy road got my front wheel in a drainage ditch only my pride was hurt following all the honking and abuse I got..think it was abuse I don't speak Spanish. I told OH I couldn't ride a bike he then believed me.
I went to the meeting about Open Gardens and Dordogne Damsel was there too. Lots of publicity posters to spread about and how to collect the money. Lots of lovely cake too
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
So proud of my daughter She works for Mencap with adults with severe physical and learning disabilities. Today she and a colleague were in a Debenhams with two ladies with severe cerebral palsy using wheelchairs, waiting for the lift to arrive to take them down to the ground floor. Behind them in the queue were some mums with little ones in buggies.
As the lift arrived two men pushed past them and got into the lift.
Incensed, daugher put her foot in the door to stop it closing and said politely, ' Sorry to inconvenience you gentlemen, but don't you think these ladies have been inconvenienced enough in their lives without you adding to their difficulties?
She went on to explain the principles of queueing and just went on and on until the two men sheepishly exited the lift and went down the stairs!
She said she got a round of applause and cheers!!! SO PROUD OF HER!!!
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Sums it up Dove my wife can be in her wheelchair and people will lean across in front of her or bend down behind in a shop then complain when she runs then down she often says sorry but the eyes in my ass are not what they use to be.
Its as if she's invisible.
If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need.
Is it me, or why on earth would half a million people sign a petition asking for the reinstatement of the objectionable, egotistical, yob....Jeremy Clarkson?
Hi, I haven't posted much before and have lurked a bit but am now at a stage where I need other people to share my barely contained excitement with. We bought our house last year, and with it got our first garden. With all the work needed on the house the garden took a bit of a back seat but now with the help of a gardener friend I'm almost ready to expand and fill the virtually empty borders. It's so exciting to be gradually be getting the plants (and pear trees) ready, and I have veg and flower seeds coming along nicely! I love this time of year and see my bulbs coming up is making it even better.
Dove, good for your daughter. Mine is partially sighted and walks with a cane and I'm amazed how often people step over it because they're too impatient to give her a bit of time.

Well done your daughter Dove. I'd have been using more than just my foot in a door

Because he's very popular and 5 million watch his show. He has character, so they say.
Well done Dove's daughter.
