Had a lovely afternoon at Garden Centre. Started with coffee and cake, just to get me going, then bought a Ilex. Gold King, reduced from £8 to £4, nice little plant some more basket plug plants and a packet of coleus seeds, thought I would give them a try, useful for infilling in pots.
It's been a beautiful day here, managed to sit out this morning and chat to friends over coffee, really feels as if Spring is on its way, if not yet arrived.
Love the pergola, will look stunning when planted up with climbers.
Hello all. Just in from the garden, tired and cold (it only reached 8C here, though the sun was lovely) but very happy having done loads. OH has been out all day so I've just got on with it... he's not back until late, so I haven't even had to cook.
Mrs G - yes, you can definitely get Salix flamingo as a bush - they sell it at my local GC.
KEF - it's Lily Pilly who's spending time with daughter and granddaughter, lucky thing!
Wintersong - that pergola looks fab, simple and robust.
Dove - hope your dad is improving.
Cor. I ain't arf STIFF...
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
OH moved the last of the topsoil into the polytunnels. He clearly wasn't enjoying it one bit, but he didn't moan.
He was SOOOOOOOOOO much happier when he got the paint out ( he used to be a painter / decorator ) and painted the wall around a little arbour area we have next to our annexe.
Tenants move in on Saturday, so been doing a bit of sprucing up.
Called the farmer at the bottom of the lane, and after she stopped laughing, said she'd sent her son up with a tractor to pull my van out of the mud in the wood.
Sowed more chillies and made raised beds for strawberries.
Another frost KEF? But I've only just emptied the greenhouse to give it a clean. These pots are heavy!
Watching this Pillock tv programme. There are a few awful errors (I must remember it is only television) but that erks me is Verduns hair: has he never been near shampoo and a comb?!
Thanks all of you, I knew I wasn't mad after all. well maybe a little Just don't seem to be in stock so far where I've looked. I'm thinking for winter interest (can't figure what it will look like in summer as can't remember what else is there!) - My standard one looks great just now with red stems. so I thought placing it infront of yellow helebore thing, red robin behind it.
Hello folks Home again - Pa not too bad but very frail and tired. Ma muddled but happy to sit by Pa's bed and hold his hand. The builders have finished the decorating - it looks great - very pleased.
We've just had a takeaway for supper - not allowed to use the kitchen until tomorrow - then I'll be putting the house back in order - hope everyone's had a good day - I'll read back in a bit - if I can stay awake

Yes MrsG you can get salix flamingo as a bush rather than a standard. I have one in a pot on the patio waiting for a space
