Great pics Ggirl. Brings back memories of a lovely afternoon .....so many beautiful gardens in one little village
All my garden chores now done - decided that "puddle planting" was the way to go in the current circumstances, so hopefully they will all settle in nicely. My cleomes were pathetic last year, so have chosen a different spot this year to see if it makes a difference.
Time for feet up Preparing myself for a manic few weeks
Nanny - Woodgreen is in the New Forest, Ringwood side. A few of us met up there for their open gardens event .....some beautiful gardens, and all in an idyllic setting
Catastrophe! (as the French say). After 3 hours of driving my car broke down, overheated, needs some belt or something for the water pump. Now in a garage in the middle of France. Insurance said we couldn't come home today as car hire places were shut and wanted us to stay in a hotel. But daughter No 2's lovely French husband rang them and persuaded them to get us home by taxi, train to Limoges and another taxi. So we'll give it another go tomorrow in OH's car.
Ferry lady was nice and we have tickets for 1am ferry, no extra charge. 6pm was full, but it gives us a chance for a lie in tomorrow and we'll have a cabin on the ferry.
Nightmare waiting for breakdown man. You have to call the gendarmerie if you break down on a motorway, who is supposed to arrange for a breakdown man in 30 mins. A motorway chap arrived with plastic cones and eventually rang a breakdown man. The gendarme had forgotten to ring him. The hard shoulder was very narrow with brambles and nettles beyond it and it was hot with no shade.
Going to bed.
Garden girl, I think that plant is Scilla Peruviana.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Star gazer congrats on new gd. So we all had girls?! I am with the new baby for a week helping out. Busy,.today I sent them out for a walk and a coffee with baby and washed all downstairs floors, did 2washings, cut back and tidied all the containers, deadheaded all roses and cleared away a lot of overhanging branches. Then did roast dinner
Chicky I was given an agapanthus just before I left, will it do in a pot?
Yviestevie, Our family talking today of importance of familybonds, we are all scattered but wish we were together. would even be happywith some football damage!
NannyBeach would love to see a photo of your red bridge?!
garden girl, thank you for lovely pictures, I enjoyed every one. Do you happen to know the name of the poppy, it looks like Patty Plum?
woody, what an achievement. Such hard work but what rewards, take a bow sir!
missing my garden But plenty to do in sons and then saw daughters new London flat which left me speechless. How do developers get away with such rubbish and say its landscaped I don't know how to advise her. Its a challenge, will be asking for help I think
As I walk along the streets here I am just amazed at the gardens, roses everywhere, vegetables being grown in amazing containers. Tonight a girl was picking raspberries from her hedge in the front garden, she offered me one and it was very sweet, all this in a heavily populated area where you would think no one bothered!
i think the world would be better if we ALL gardened,
better sleep, on duty again in the morning tomorrow we are sorting out all the new baby clothes.
Weeds are flowers, too, once you get to know them.” A A Milne
Oh no Lizzie - what a disaster Hope tomorrow is more successful
LilyP - i keep all my agapanthus in pots. They like having their roots constrained, plus I bring them all into the GH for the winter to stop them getting too wet and cold.

Good morning all
Bright blue skies, but cooler than of late - 12.5C when I got up - we'll see what the day brings ...
BL - how awful! Glad you got home safely - fingers crossed for the next attempt!
LillyP - sounds like a rewarding day
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Lovely blue skies here. I'm working inside all day.
