OH decided he's taking the week off as his , guess what? KNEES are hurting.
Sympathy pains anyone?
Thanks all for kind wishes re scan. Not having the follow up appointment until 29th, so I don't suppose I'll know anything before then. At least I'll have some company on the drive to,and from, hospital. Barnstaple is not on my fave list.
The cogs certainly grind slowly.
Good luck with the heating Wonky. I HATE BEING COLD.
Good morning, quick pop in again, already been and done the airport trip , back to get OH on Friday ( the trip not the OH) and had arm re dressed at hospital, need to go again Thursday. It is still sore, actually worse than when I first did it, the itching is awful but they say it's fine and healing nicely. Amazingly efficient in the hospital, even on my 1st trip to A&E I waited less than 5 minutes, all very different to any UK experiences.
Want to get all bedding changed while OH is away, time to go from summer to winter stuff I think, definitely gone cooler, especially in the early mornings.
WW, I do hope you will be sorted soon, sounds like you have had a real trauma there, and cold is so horrible. Sounds promising anyway. Good luck.
Good luck too for those at doctors and dentists, I have a dentist appointment fast approaching and think a very wobbly one might just have to come out. My UK dentist was trying to save it but I have a feeling it has gone beyond help, Charlie is excited, he thinks the tooth fairy will leave double money because it's a big tooth and obviously I will 'share' with him.
Right must get on, might just get the quilted throw dry on the line if I get it out soon enough.
Have a good afternoon all.

Me too, Hosta. I have a hot water bottle and bedsocks while OH is sweltering with his feet out of the duvet...
Wonky, I wasn't on here last night. Hope today's a better day...
Visited the dementia care home yesterday. It has some good points, but also some not-so-good... don't know if it's possible to have a secure unit where the corridors don't make you feel you're in prison? All shiny and washable, with pictures very high on the walls. Anyway, I'm waiting for a brochure from another place a few miles away and reachable by bus, which looks a possibility (and has a good CQC inspection report). My sister's coming to stay soon, and we'll visit it together. Moral support would be good...
Meanwhile, Mum is refusing medication and so is not improving. Hopefully the doc will be able to recommend some form of medicine which can be hidden in a cup of tea or something... but on the plus side, she seems a bit less anxious, and still recognises me.
Dry with odd sunny patches today. The trees are colouring up beautifully across the valley.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Hello folks! I'm back from the dentist - just a polish I went to the market and bought a gammon hock, a pound of beef shin, a pound of skirt and some ox kidney and two big pork chops, a bulb of fennel, a bunch of spinach beet, a pound of purple sprouting (early!?) and a lovely loaf of wholemeal bread. We're not going to starve for a while
Poor Wonky - not only is it horrid to be cold, it's actually dangerous for her Lovely hub as he has a Sickle Cell condition. Hopefully they'll be warm as toast this evening. ((hugs))
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Plants have received a reasonable watering-in over the last 24 hrs although we could do with some decent heavy rain really - it was mostly fine drizzle yesterday.
Best wishes to all with hospital / doctor / dental appointments but especially Hosta and Pat - hope they can get you both sorted out soon.
WW - hope you have a lovely warm & fitted out house when you get home. It's horrible living out of boxes & not being able to find stuff. Everything has a place in my house & I don't like it when it's untidy / messed about. Have no idea how people live in untidy, disorganised houses - I stop functioning if things get messy - maybe a little OCD creeping in there
LIri - I do hope you are able to find something suitable for your mum - any move will be disorientating for her at first - but the unfortunate circumstances mean there is no alternative. Are Soc Services helping you find another home for her? It can help to have a sympathetic professional ear to talk things through, even if it doesn't change the options.
Need to sort out my Household Insurance today . Tedious job I'd prefer to delegate but nobody else around so best get on...
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Well as if I didn't have enough to do, now I have to get a bodywork quote for the car. I went to fetch the choccies, and while I was sat in the car, fully in a parking bay, a golf tried to come into the next bay at the wrong angle. I thought the wind had got up as the car rocked. She pulled through, and I got out. My offside rear bumper corner has a huge white patch on it,and her wheel arch an even bigger one. When I tapped on the window and said she'd just hit me, she said she hadn't. A man arrived and said, oh it will polish out. ... and the dents? I've done enough polishing this week. Details exchanged and she then drove off. I have no doubt that if I hadn't been there at the time, I would have come back to find the scrape.

Thank you, Lesley.
I've just changed to winter bedding this morning, DD. We had the summer duvet and mattress side, but in real summer it's just a sheet.
