Hi all, welcome Happy Grower. Busy here, but not as bad as last week, teaching English all week on a special English Week for French kids. Any spare time spent watering or dead heading ready for 2nd Open Day on Sunday. Not fretting over it, this heat is too OK intense to get too involved and I think people will understand. Off to bring washing in ( least that dries fast) and then bed.

Best wishes to all, congrats to new grandparents and hope Lizzie gets to UK OK. Good night all. Xk

    Good morning all image

It's a lovely morning here - apparently we have some rain coming later in the morning, but that's just what we need so I won't grumble - it just means I won't feel guilty for watching the tennis image

I've been out in my jimjams on an early morning slug patrol and found one which had taken up residence in a pot of seedling hellibores and reduced them to little stumps image  He is no longer there!

Morning all - very damp here but I ordered all the rain specially for my grass seed...image

I didn't feel guilty watching the tennis at all Dove - absolutely tremendous. Recorded some as I had to go out. Eventually saw it this morning at half five image

Hope chicky hasn't done anything naughty if we've to watch the papers...image

    Morning all!

I booked this weekend off (worked three in a row) to find his lordship is going away. Looks like I might get some gardening time after all this week after all.

By gardening I mean hacking back the weeds and trying to work out what happened to my best laid plans!

I'm thinking a flame thrower Dove in the hope that it might slow things down from popping back up the moment I look away.

Also - just want to give out a shout out to Mrs G... for pointing me in the makaton direction: I've completed levels 1 - 4 & am now very impatient to get it in use around work!

    Morning all

Why do I always wake up feeling like a rhino parked on top of me all night? image

I suppose 6hrs of gardening yesterday didn't help, but now my ivy is gone from the base of my tree, (gone in relative terms,) I dug a deep hole and cut out the root ball although some deep roots remain. I have gained about 16 inches all round and can start to improve the soil and think about what I might plant instead image

What ever that is, it's definitely a trip to the GC at some point although maybe after the expense of learning to drive image

OH bought a flame thrower from lidl last week, along with several large cans of butane gas,and then spent a happy evening nuking weeds around the parking space and walls etc. Hes not  allowed near the garden as he is unable to distinguish weeds from expensive rare plants.

The rest of the week I get to garden and watch Wimbledon. imageimage

I'm going to cloud prune the angelica, taking all the leaves off and leaving the seed heads.
