Thanks verd, can't wait for delivery tomorrow. Not sure the trees I have chosen will associate well together but I'll have a play around! They are for behind the kids area so no room for further planting....yet!!!

Sorry Leslie, didn't see you there. Yes, final decision is : eucalyptus niphophilla, liquidambar Lane Roberts, liriodendron tulipifera and acer drumondii. I know a bit of a mish mash and nothing like I had spent ages researching and planning - but I did listen to comments and advice on here and was prepared when GC didn't have what I had chosen. Thanks all.

Sounds like you're having a great time fidget.  Just grabbed a few minutes to catch up after a hectic nanna day.  Little ones just gone to bed time for a nice cold pinot me thinks while I take a look around the forum.  Back later.

Well, what an awful day re the weather, it absolutely chucked down this morning.  Luckily didnt have to take grandaughter to school (hubby did and he got soaked).  Popped to the GC this afternoon and picked up my free bulbs with the baby, she quite likes wondering around the plants (or pretties as she calls them).  They had a lot of Ch******s lights around which pleased her. I chose Camassia with my voucher, you only get 3 bulbs but I already have some so can add these to them.  Really feels like autumn now, I think I'll be lighting the fire when I get back home.

Thanks Liriodendron! Useful to know about the wormery and nitrogen being too much for seedlings. That saves a lot of heartache!

STILL  can't decide what to plant next to my strawberries which is making me start to think maybe it's the strawberries that are in the wrong place image

I've climbed into bed rather than putting the heating on. Now; how can I convince oh to fetch me  a mug of tea...

BL - a TWIGS outing in July to meet up with you at BC's and/or Bressingham?  Sounds fantastic.image All of July is free at the moment! image Can you build East Ruston in Norfolk into your trip as well?  I think you'd enjoy it.

  • Gg which alliums did you get? I bought some at Malvern which should go in now. Best not to hang about, apparently.image

Yvie..... I grow my cammassias in pots. Bought some new white ones, again at Malvern, to add to my collection. When I had them in the ground they were in the way of other stuff later in the year. Do love them, though.

Great tree choices MrsG - liquidambers are one of my favourites, specially at this time of year.  Apart from anything else I just love their nameimage.  We need pics once they are inimage

Due some sunshine today, after yesterday's squalls.  Must get out there at lunchtime to make the most of itimage.  Am taking my free bulb token with me, so will go to GC and make my choice .... will it be crocus, or wild tulip, or fritillary, or iris....decisions, decisions .....
