Very wet and muddy here too Beaus. I couldn't avoid the huge puddles and discovered my wellies have a leak. Bekkie was cooking early - I was just talking about it. Glad you'll be able to have a rest at work
Glad OH is recovering well LilyP. Have a good day and enjoy lunch. Will there be cake
Paint colours are pale grey and white, powder blue and white, duck egg blue and white and stone and white All brought from wickes 5 pounds a tin!!! Bargain of the century
Lesley you can make bird nest house out of those holey wellies now and treat yourself to a new pair!
Hi Folks, Thanks for all the good wishes. Went back to bed at around 3 and woke up at 8.00. Have to be careful what pain killers I take due to IBS. Ibruprofen is a big No No unfortunately.
If I decide to move stone pots and bags of compost just remind me of how I feel this morning.
I certainly wont be gardening this morning it's lashing down at the moment although the weather forecast said it would brighten up later so I may be able to sow some seeds.
Must go and visit mum as well, haven't seen her for a few days and she will be getting grumpy. Was supposed to go last night but didn't feel up to the walk even though it's only a few door away.
Verdun, if the house next door to you ever goes up for sale will you let me know please.
Bekkie, I reckon your OH should be able to push that tree over for you.
I wonder what OL, Fairy and Frank are up to, haven't heard from them in ages.
Beaus great idea about the welly nest. I remember a thread about doing that from last year. I haven't got a shower cap LilyP but a plastic bag will do till I can get another pair. Have a glass of wine once you get back home.
Sorry to hear about the coughs and sniffles, and worse, that you lot are suffering! Re hand washing: my granny reckoned we had to consume a "peck of dirt" to build up immunity to germs. My daughter had a fascination with eating soil at about 10 months but she's still here... I was at my healthiest when gardening for a living, when I didn't have so much as a cold for 3 years in spite of (or maybe because of) working outside in all weathers. So I can confirm that GARDENING IS GOOD FOR YOU!
So yesterday I spent a good part of the day in the garden, puning some of the rose hedge, removing weeds and soggy leaves, and preparing for seed sowing. It's still a bit early hereabouts, and my windowsills aren't ideal for propagation. Got out my electric propagator to find its plastic lid is completely cracked - must have plastic fatigue! I can feel another GC visit coming on to find a replacement lid (etc, probably... )
Beaus, if you need some temporary anti-mud paths while you're deciding where the permanent ones are to go, why not put down some bark chips? You can shift the bark onto the borders later, as a mulch, if they're in the wrong place.
Well, the rain seems to be easing... Must go & post a parcel, then maybe attack the hedge again.

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
I checked on it and its looking amazing for the first time ever and I think its because I always followed the rule of 50/50 until I watched some gardener on Youtube who swears by 70/30 carbon/nitrogen so I added more carbon to mine and its incredible stuff. Still rustic but really much better looking than ever has been.
P.P.S those with moulting dogs can add hair to the compost pile

No, sadly not, friend is gluten free so it's always a salad and with our new laws there can't even be a glass of wine!
Chat will be good though.

How odd, I posted that in response to Fidget wondering how Fg was - but then Fidget's post disappeared
