Clari -  I presume you only get a tiny amount of compost, but is it better for seed sowing as it will be very fine textured, or would it be too rich for this time of year?

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

I'm not sure to be honest Fairy - compared to my four daleks the about of compost you get in the wormery is quite small (3/4 dalak) but it takes much less time to compost so you get a steady rate of it -(you just lift the bottom one out once all the worms have moved up) it does look really fine stuff, quite dark too. I think Edd is the wormery expert perhaps he knows the nutritional value? I was thinking of using it for seeds as it's so fine.

Wet, windy and chilly here image

Thanks for the welcome home posts image

No luck on the lottery so guess I'm staying here and doing my ironing and HW image Where does the dust come from when you are away? I thought most was made up from dead skin particles, if that's the case a large family has been living in our house whilst we've been away. image

Hope all the walking wounded feel better today & the workers don't feel too bad for a Monday.

    Morning all.

Very wet and windy this morning as it very often is on a Monday which is bin collection day - we end up having to chase wheelie bins down the street or stop the car and move them to the side of the roadimage  Wish I had done more yesterday nowimage

KEF - what an ungrateful family they were for not doing the housework before they leftimage

Hope the saltminers have a good day.

Lily - don't try getting all the leaves today.  They will wait for a day or two till your back is better.image

Enjoy your lunch out today Doveimage

    Morning all.

Just off to post letters and take rubbish to the bins. No collection here. Nothing exciting planned.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
  • Back to reality and a good dowsing this morning after trip to "Doveland". Went to East Ruston and Beth Chatto's. Both are a real treat. East Ruston is as good as everyone makes out with more and more colour as you near the house. Lots of interlocking spaces so lots of surprises as you turn each corner. Everyone should make the effort to see this garden at least once. I think I would like to see its Spring magic next time.

30 years since I went to BC's and basic structure unchanged. Gravel garden looking great. It must have been quite new all those years ago. My eye was taken by a fantastic eucalyptus tree. I have lots of gravel.... mmmmm... sound of thinking!!

I have learned a lot about the use of grasses so may get some more, and weave them into my current beds....and perhaps in gravel...image

  • Pouring down now and so windy!

Don't worry Lesley, didn't cross my mind to even try to collect leaves today lol. Fed up not being able to do stuff tho. OH said he'd get get a suck and blow thingy whatsit. (Kef behave!) So he can play with that when he gets it / not raining image
