Evening all. Been glorious here all day. Think we're getting that Cornish weather here now
and it's light till later too OL.... Pity you didn't get your pot.
One of my work colleagues children had H,F and M recently. Mine missed most of these things fortunately, they had chicken pox...which they kindly gave to me
Been busy but did sit down on the bench for my lunch and a couple of cuppas and watched the three buzzards gliding up above. The robin was busy in the feeder - think he gets annoyed with me when I'm working round there and he can't get in for his snack
Note to self - not a good idea to keep painting timber right next to the washing...at least it wasn't a white one today
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Hmm. Not much fun having chicken pox as an adult - hard luck, Fairy! Bet you've still got scars as a reminder... Hope your granddaughter soon feels much better, Yvie. Horrible for a few days but with luck she'll bounce back quickly, and not give it to anyone else...
Hard luck missing out on the chimney pot, OL. Hope another comes up soon... If you live in an area where people still have coal fires they're relatively easy to find. There were 3 in Todmorden market last Thursday, and they sell them in the local garden centre too.
Hope I can pinch the laptop soon - this has been laboriously uploaded via the ancient and temperamental netbook, which has a habit of taking a dislike to what I've written and deleting half of it...
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
I do love a buzzard...couldn't eat a whole one ....
It really wasn't funny Liri. Lost a lot of eyelashes, but the health visitor told me a man younger than me had just died from c.pox so I guess I was lucky
You must be weary chicky. Feet up.
That's what I'm doing now. Night all

Ha. No bribes necessary - he's gone upstairs to play with his trains!
Much better day for weather today - less humid, cooler, intermittent sun & no rain. Spent a happy hour painting Algon on flags to stop them being so slippery when it rains, then picking blueberries & raspberries for tea and courgettes to take with me tomorrow to daughter's (I'm on grandma duties for 5 days while son-in-law's in America for a conference). The baby is apparently nuts about courgettes, so I'll be interested in her unbiased opinion on mine...
Is there a better place to post photos than this thread? I don't spend enough time on the forum to find out... (though I probably spend more time on it than I should... ) Anyway, for the moment they're here, until someone tells me off...
This is my garden 8 years ago, from the steps. Public footpath (down stone steps) between garden and redundant church.
- and now, from nearly the same place, with my last bit of gravel laying outside the shed - even managed a tiny bed for shady things next to the wall. Could do with trellis or something to hide the junk behind the shed though...
and this is all you can see of the church now. No sign of the stone steps...
sorry, not brilliant photo of Cyclamen hederifolium I got at the Harrogate show - really pretty leaves as well as lovely flowers
- just love my new toad lily, Tricyrtis hirta
- and finally this Hesperantha, really subtle colour.
