Thanks Bekkie, Just had a call from Firstborn apparently Grandaughter has Hand, Foot and Mouth.  I had heard of it before, my friends Grandaughter had it.  It mainly affects children under 9 and they get painful blisters on their hands feet and around and in their mouth.  Thats why we couldnt get her to take any medication or food.  Nothing we can do apparently, it will last about 5 days and antibiotics dont help because its viral.  It says on the internet that you shouldnt cuddle or kiss those infected with it.  Like thats going to happen, when she gets back home she's going to get the biggest cuddle going.  Looks like I'm in for a tricky few days but hey ho as long as shes OK.

Hello all. All socialising is over until Friday when we go to a wedding anniversary. For the moment anyway. I am expecting 100s of baby plug plants this week, violas, pansies, forget-me-nots etc. Will have to pot them on, then plant out in pots and troughs and borders when the summer annuals are over.

Verdun, how could you? Chimney pot was for OL!image

Oh dear Yvie, but at least there is a time limit, the 5 days will seem very long. Thank God it's not meningitis. Hugs. Always a worry when little ones are ill.

  • Yvie, as dense as i am about kids, i have actually heard of that before, not nice but not as worrying as other things, poor thing must feel really rough! Super nanny to the rescue... again eh image
  • Hi everyone image I didn't win the chimney pot because silly me got distracted right at the last minute and 2 people bid more.....I wouldn't mind but i was prepared to go up to £25 and my own silliness getting distracted lost it for me imageimage

Yvie, sorry ti hear your grandaughter is poorly, virtual hugs for you and her.

Our lovely bestest buddies bought us a bottle of my favourite champagne round.......do we drink it tonight to celebrate the beginning of a new chapter in our lives tomorrow or save it until we reach our first sales increase target? image

  • Hi Yvie sorry to granddaughter is poorly but glad its nothing really bad. Best wishes and hugs to you all xx

Oh OL, sorry you didn't get chimney pot, hugs for you too.

Tsk tsk Verdun image did make me giggle tho

  • I missed Verdun's earlier comment LOL!!!  If he didn't live in Cornwall I may have believed him, although it went for just over £17 not £35 image I'm still blaming Verdun for jinxing my purchase now though image

Well done on the car boot Panda, that's a good amount and I'm sure your guides will be pleased image

Littlest chicklet had the hand/foot/mouth thing when she was five - horrible, horrible illness.  her mouth was so sore all she could eat was soggy weetabix and mashed potato and gravyimage.  Hope your GD picks up soon Yvie.

nice day out, but lots of traffic on way home, so am feeling a bit jaded.  And also a bit concerned that my w/end seems to have disappeared so quickly ..... does someone speed up the Sat and Sun hours??
