Lots of thunder and lightnining last night but not sure how much rain. More predicted tomorrow, hopefully it won't disrupt our Flower Show.
Work on terrace continues today, and now I can see the basic shape, all sinuous curves, it is turning out as I hoped, if not better.
My man also comes in to help in the garden and there is a bed , which we cleared last time which we will ready for planting. Current plan is to underplant the Queen Elizabeth and Corvedale roses with Roseanne, and add a jarring touch with something orange!
Must also do my final preparations for the Show, identifying what stuff I am going to use and cook my tart tatin.
Morning, quick check in before I leave for Scotland. Windy, cloudy and very warm here.....it's going to wait until I'm on the M6 with lots of open land and then start storming, I just know it is Wish me luck!!!
Edd, the difference between a baby and getting kicked in the wotsits is that you have something to show for it. I had a bladder infection a few months ago which is probably the closest I've come since child birth.
Right, catch you all later, have a lovely day everyone x
Good morning Woody - I like the look of the Corvedale rose - it's not one I know but now I'm trying to work out where I could put it - I might have to dig another bed I also like the sound of the pink and blue with a dash of orange - I've got a pink rose with Rozanne in front of it, and a burnt orange crocosmia (don't know which, it 'just appeared') pops up behind them - looks great.
Don't worry about rain tomorrow, I think it's all scheduled to come to Norfolk
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Hi Dove, I saw Corvedale at Hyde Hall for the first time and fell for it. I don't think many know just how good it is. More should give it a look. Loads of flower, repeating, reasonably clean, strong grower but can be whacked hard if necessary, lovely strong pink colour and arching habit. ( don't plant too near grass edge ).
IMy Corvedale are in mostly sun, but some shade later in the day. They are on the north side of some middle height trees.
The lovely Carol K. is showing hefty showers and a yellow warning for rain in Hants tomorrow ... our show opens to the public at 2, with setting up and judging from 8-30. fingers crossed. i will do as much as I can today, and dodge the showers tomorrow.

Woody, I don't suppose it can cope with a bit of shade can it?

Just back from walk and it's not bad here so far. Another couple of wild flowers to look up in a minute.
I hope the weather doesn't spoil your day tomorrow Ww and the garden visitors.
Good luck on the M6 OL. Where are you heading? Do you stop at Tebay for coffee. I like stopping there just to sit and watch the ducks
