Verdun, sorry to hear your mum's not too good again - it sounds as if it may have been what's known as a Mini-stroke or Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA) - Pa's had quite a few.  They differ from regular strokes in not resulting in any damage to the brain or physical disability.  Pa used to have one in the morning and then be totally recovered by teatime.  It does however increase the risk of a 'regular stroke'.

Allium, your cat wouldn't have stood a chance against my Cuckoo Maran cockerel 'Everest'  - he looked like this one, only taller ....

Verdun, sorry to hear about yesterday's upset and hope Mum is home soon. My Dad had a few TIA's he was usually irritated before one, which I imagine was because he felt unwell and couldn't explain that to anyone, then off his food and then slept for hours and seemed okay next day. This happened more when he was in the nursing home and I did ask the question about him being given sufficient fluids.

As you say hard to judge if there is a degree of attention seeking. If my Mum appears to be doing that I suggest a trip to G.P. for a checkup and she soon recovers, certainly wouldn't go to hospital, so I think you'd best give Mum the benefit of doubt image Hope you get to do something today that you enjoy.

Thanks for the sun but it hasn't arrived yet image

KEF, he was a complete poppet with me, but the dogs and cats kept their distance if he was 'free ranging' image

Morning all. Dry here - I was hoping for rain so that I wouldn't feel guilty watching the tennis later. Is that bad? image

Hope your mum is ok Verd. Always worrying, and hard to make a judgement as the others have said.

Was late going for dinner last night with my friend because I didn't realise the time - fortunately I didn't have far to go image  Worked outside afterwards till half eight - sorting out the tomatoes and doing bits and pieces. The birds have been pecking at the sempervivums in my alpine pan image The rubrum ones have their  flowering 'spikes' - perhaps they thought it was some kind of rival bird......or Dove's big chicken  image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
