Plenty here KEF - but it was needed.

Got another baby woodpecker (red head, as opposed to neck) on our peanut feeder.  Lovelyimage

We used to get green woodpecker families on the feeders at work - lovely.  We hear them quite close by here but I've not seen one come to the garden .......... yet image

Dove - these are the greater spotteds.  We get the occasional green in the garden, but have never seen one on the feeders.

  • Morning all image Rain here too, although not at this precise moment.  I must say although it's a shame for the festival-goers, it's great for me and my garden as I've spent the last few days almost constantly watering and popping things in trays or buckets of water to stop them dying. Lets hope everyone has a nice day.  Last day of freedom for me, it's back to the salt mines tomorrow boo hoo.

Chicky - we do occasionally get Gt Spotteds on the feeders here in the garden - they were frequent visitors to the feeders at work - and you're right (what am I thinking - not enough coffee yet this morning)  the green woodpeckers didn't use the feeders, it was the Gt Spotteds - the greens were frequent visitors to the  lawn in front of my window, poking into the ant nests.

Morning all.  No celebrations last night as he went to his parents for a dental appointment in the morning so I went to the museum to ready vehicles for the weekend. I've only actually seen him for fifteen minutes since the question was popped!

Slowly telling all the family (I think posting it on Facebook is a little crude) and close friends. Feels a little surreal.

Got home very late to find my lavenders - oh my gosh the smell when I opened the box was incredible! I can't wait to pot them all up and label them properly.

I also got my little aloe babies from Phillippa which I'm so excited about!

Also - found a little hedgehog on the drive last night : I couldn't see him when I reversed up thank goodness I missed them! He looked very healthy free from ticks so I watched him wander off down the road. First job this weekend is to make the gardens more hog friendly!

Partner left me some roses by the bed when I got in too. Only as I often do I didn't bother turning on lights in the house so almost missed them!

What a day! I hope today is quieter!
