When I go through phases of not being able to sleep I get really strict with myself.  No caffeine at all after lunch time, no cheese, no alcohol and a milky drink and banana before bed, preferably with a soak in a warm bath.  I also make sure I don't use any 'blue light' equipment after about 8.30-9pm and put all phones / ipads etc on aeroplane mode as the 'waves' (or whatever the technical word is) can still work even when not in use and keep you awake.  I also always turn the wifi off at night and don't take my phone upstairs now at all. That seems to make a big difference.  My problem is I am usually so tired and fall into a deep sleep for about an hour and then wake up and can't get back to sleep!!  It's not good image

Its your sleep architecture (i know i cant spell), that can be tough to sort, There are 4 stages of sleep, not all give you "refreshing"sleep, naps can help, my neurologyst gave me sleeping tabs to try to push me in to a better pattern, might be worth a go, i havent had any ill effects and only use now and again, so arent addictive.

Of course we are all different and hormones play a big part, if you look up ATP production in the body, thats quite informative - sorry, will shut up now, could talk forever and a day about this stuff! image

When I said 'blue light' I meant the bad blue lights (that we can't actually see) that are emitted from iPads / phones etc and they keep your brain active so it's recommended you stop using these at least 2 hours before bed.

Definitely bin the phone from the bedside, I bet that makes a difference straight away image
