pd- how could you think such a thing...image

It was very pretty but I'm a good girl! There's another beauty near me which has been planted near a front door which is a shame. It's huge and is a stunning colour just now.

David- Lakes are lovely at this time of year. Used to holiday there often in early autum. Hope the weather is kind to you.

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • Ann - these will be two day trips. The one to Wales being with a coach company, the one to the Lakes will be with my local camera club.....Regards the latter, if the trees were in their full autumn glory, it would just be a bonus.

Fairygirl - I agree, although I've never had a holiday there, I've visited many times.

David, whats your choice of camera ?

Well, Brumbull....my choice of camera would be a Nikon DSLR, costing around £7000. But, (back to the real world) my present camera is Fuji S4500; although I have a couple that have technology has left behind.

My Fuji is a bridge camera (as against a DSLR) and does most tasks I require adequately. With flexibility such as a 30 times magnification lens, down to 1cm macro & super-macro features.

There's much more to it than that, but I'm not sure how interested you are in the ins & outs of photography.

  • Verdun - First of all I would talk photography until the cows come home, but I think it would be discourteous to 'happymarion' to highjack her thread.

Definately not a professional photographer.....it's just a pastime. image

However, and to answer your query, I’ve seen remarkable results from this camera. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Fujifilm-FinePix-S4500-Digital-Camera/dp/B0082B35W4/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1382554036&sr=8-2&keywords=fuji+bridge+cameras

It would do all you need & more.

'bout time you learnt how to use a camera Verdun, try a box brownie to get you started.
  • You're welcome, Verdun and thank you for saying you liked my pic, upthread.....it does look quite nice as a 8 x 6 pic.

Hope you're not offended by my reservations about highjacking this thread....maybe there's a place for general photo thread somewhere.

  • Not at all David.  Understand totally.  Wish I had better photography skills cos they go well with gardens, wildlife, etc.

Good to know....I agree, my three favourite pastimes are gardening, fishing & photography and all three compliment themselves very well.

Also (in the season) I like to visit all kinds of shows, ranging from village fetes, to the big agricultural shows...they all offer very good pic taking opportunities.

Just about to watch some dream photography on BBC1 at 9-o-clock....'The Great British Year'.
