I know where did that wind come from? It even blew over my bench! AND we've had snow today. We've got glorious sunshine now. Good to remember the leaves can be equally pretty on the floor.

I have a Viburnum opulus outside my kitchen window. I enjoyed looking at it at night with the outside light on so much this autumn. It's been quit etherial, it looked as if it were white and pink. It wasn't of course but the the light brought something out that the sun didn't catch. Absolutely beautiful, like an Actonidia! All gone now though.

  • Although there are some nice oranges and yellows along the road verges there always seems to be a lack of reds. I wish councils would give more thought to this and plant more maples, especially the magnificent Acer Rubrum.

Even the fading ferns are yellower than ever this year.

Mine have all suddenly turned brown, time to tidy them up a bit. I've leave enough stalks to protect any hibernating insects.

Lovely isn't it? I think mine did last year but very briefly. Mine stayed yellow this year for a good few days, but after seeing yours I had a look, they were completely brown. image
