Well… I haven’t been sent an email & I can’t see the announcement on my ipad so I’m glad I looked in. I’d like to say a big thank you to all of you - everyone who’s asked questions, everyone who’s answered them and everyone else. Without you my garden wouldn’t be the place it is. You have expanded my gardening knowledge exponentially.
Oh I am so sad this is all going, I’m a fairly new gardener and I have had fantastic advice from forum members and apart from one rude person early on I’ve had a welcoming & kind experience even when some of my questions may have seemed very basic to the well seasoned gardeners on here! What a waste of an incredible resource, what can I say that hasn’t already been said, such a shame it probably comes down to bean counters.
I used to use Candide which was also a very detailed resource & I was able so save plant IDs for future reference but that’s also closed down, I’m so surprised with the popularity of gardening & trying to do our little bit to save the planet these sites are not kept going.
Thank you to Fairygirl you’re amazing & Dovefromabove, Nannybeach & WonkyWomble, Hostafan the list of super knowledgable people goes on, I’ve read with interest & concern re Rowlandscastle’s move & Doves son (I hope he’s now doing well x) & of course Punkdoc, my minds eye has you with a mohican & a white coat 😂 but I’ve followed your medical issues & wish you well.
There’s probably lots of us lurkers who use this forum as our little bit of social life each day but don’t always post or join in but we are here listening in and feeling part of a close community.
I’ll try logging onto GC and hope I can find you there! Let’s hope that doesn’t get the GW Chelsea chop too!
Thank you Astrantia and all you others who have continued to take such a kind interest in my son’s wellbeing.
He was at the Broomfield Burns Unit again yesterday for more laser work on the scarring. They continue to be amazed at his progress, courage and fortitude. Luckily he seems to also have a high pain threshold which enables him to have much much more laser work done each session that would be normal, which means fewer trips there for him. He is back working full time although living with us means it’s a 90 minute drive twice a day … plus he often has to drive across the country for his wok too. But bless him he’s always been a stubborn chap and that’s very useful just now.
I hope to see you all in Gardeners Corner very soon. 😊
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
No @Busy-Lizzie. The archive needs to be made page by page with readily available archives/open source software and it takes too much time - I cannot spend that much time; so given up. If all the posts in a thread could be put in a single page (like houzz), it would've been possible to archive.

And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils (roses). Taking a bit of liberty with Wordsworth
