Think you have the same phone as me @Busy-Lizzie I can never do screen shots on there. But can on my tablet.
  • I have tried to parse the entire forum, but it is simply massive. I did manage to scrape the entirety of a single post as en experiment - the A Rose a Day. It worked, but the styling is a bit off. But as a way to keep important comments and photos, I guess it was OK. Example attached

I have signed up to Gardeners Corner but don't know if I'll stick with it - it seems absolutely determined to send me emails whenever a thread is updated. I've turned off all the "and send me an email" checkboxes but they still come. I've now tried unwatching threads, but I'd really like to be able to watch them without getting emails. Maybe I'll use a throwaway email account ...
I had the same problem, but just asked for help, and one of the mods assisted. They told me how to do it, but actually did it for me remotely!
If you tap on your name, a box will drop down. Go down the left hand list to Preferences and tap on that.
Then make sure the two boxes I’ve highlighted are not ticked. There seem to be other privacy settings to stop e mails that I am also trying out, but so far it seems to have stopped them. The mods have been so kind though, so just ask and someone will be happy to help. Everyone has been so welcoming. Good luck

Awful arrows @Ergates , but GREAT information. I checked and had already did that and have not been getting emails since...

@nickoslesteros I'm sure the site could be captured, but as you have indicated, time is the problem. Ideally a conversion of the site to something like that used on GC Xenforo or Simple Machines (SMF), which I've seen used a lot. But even with a read-only version it would still need to be hosted, albeit at a small cost. It would be nice if there is a way to save certain threads for people locally?

Well at least it gives me hope that the mods are so hands on, that a lot of the bad imports won't last long @Fire

I might be able to get a proportion of it in some browsable form. I have pulled 2.8GB of it so far, but I fear this is a drop in the ocean

It would be good if everyone left their bitterness and sniping here, wouldn't it @Fire ?

If I were a regular GC poster/member I'd be really  hacked off by the massive proliferation of GW posters, acting just like they're 'at home'.  Horrible if it turned into a clone of this site.  Puts me right off joining.
Have a heart, give the poor sods a decent 'share' in their own forum!  I'm finding it all rather embarrassing.
