Good afternoon @AnnaB I remember when you lost the photos because of a well intentioned neighbour. But you have them back now, and will spend lovely hours looking at them. Weather isn't bad today, a hint of sun even!
All I can say is that I sincerely hope the herbalist is able to help you @punkdoc . After a career spent healing the sick and helping others you richly deserve a happy retirement and to be able to get a good night's sleep every night.
Unrelated to the above, but on my mind nonetheless... One of my neighbours is a lady in her 80s who lost her Husband a few years ago. She was (understandably) feeling lonely after this, so her Grandson (in his 20s) moved in. Unfortunately he works full-time and when not working he tends to be out socialising, (and frequently is away for the entire weekend), so this is only a slight improvement for her. Her Grandson bought her a dog, but it is quite a large dog and she is fairly petite, and I'm concerned it might pull her off her feet at some stage when she is taking it out for a walk. A few months ago she had a car accident. Happily she was uninjured, but unfortunately it seems to have stopped her driving as she hasn't tried to get another car. More concerningly, she has been a little confused since the accident. For example she has been talking about doctors who retired from the local GP surgery decades ago as though they are still there, and has been talking about her Son-in-law (who is alive and well) as if he is deceased. Things like that. She has two Daughters, one lives overseas and one lives locally, but who doesn't seem to be of much help. She (my neighbour) is also very anxious at night in case someone breaks into her house. I have told her she can ring me any time day or night for any reason (or no reason) and I'll be more than happy to come immediately. It is very sad state of affairs, she is dealing with grief, loneliness and now confusion, and I'm not sure it can be easily fixed.
Sorry for this sad post folks. I hope everyone has a safe day in their gardens today anyway, and I hope things go well in your lives, and the lives of your loved ones too.

I do worry about you @punkdoc. A friend of mine was on all sorts of medication for various health and mental problems. A couple of years ago she decided to come off all her meds (slowly, gradually) and I worried that the bipolar she had at one point being diagnosed with would re emerge. But she is fine. And she is sleeping better. She still gets attacks of akathisia occasionally - a hangover from the meds. She is convinced she was being harmed by the meds - or the combination of meds. Do you think it might be worth having a thorough review of the meds you are on?
I enjoyed Trust too @D0rdogne_Damsel, but wouldn't recommend it to my book group as, like yours, some of them wouldn't get past the first few pages and would give up. They mostly like books with strong plots that race along.
I was up at 3:30 as the cats woke me then I remembered I had forgotten to pass on a message in work so I had to set my alarm for 7 to get up to txt my colleague! Had a ‘sleep’ tea and nodded back off watching a programme. Sounds like a few of us could have joined in for a cuppa in the early hours (decaf herbal of course). You are having a particularly rough ride with sleep Punkdoc - I hope you’ve been ok today after the horrible 2am scenario.
I did the SM run in the dry, but rain is settling in for the day now - with very heavy rain forecast for later. Just cleaned my hob and hood so waiting for the grates to finish in the dishwasher. Can’t face doing the inside of oven today. That’s a HW lowlight imo.
I hope everyone’s weekend is going ok. Any nice food, drink or trips planned folks? I’ve got an afternoon tea Hen Party next weekend. The youngsters are going to a crazy golf and karaoke thing after that. I don’t fancy Cardiff on a rugby day (always busy even if an away game) so I’ll bow out of that.
Thanks @didyw. I agree with you, but have managed to come off several drugs in the last couple of years. I am hoping to start reducing my last anti-depressant this summer, but have failed in the past. I would also like to come off my sleeping tablets, but again have failed in the past.

Evening everybody, what a busy time you've all been having.
I had a lovely, though tiring, morning in the garden, finishing off my paving slab path with some difficulty and replanted a line of Heuchera 'Amethyst Mist around the drive curve, infilled with native primroses and plonked an Erigeron k. at the top end by the house. It started to drizzle just as I cleared up and is raining hard now. Did well over two hours so had a late lunch at 2 pm then promptly fell asleep in my chair. OH had been out all day, meeting friends for a beer or two (or even three!) in town. I'm expecting him to nod off any minute now!
What a surprise about the photos @AnnaB. So pleased you've got them back. That's a project we've got to do, download from our old computer to our newer laptops but we keep putting it off.
You'll probably be inundated with beaus from now on @D0rdogne_Damsel, what fun. Enjoy your ski holiday. My son and his family are on their way home from theirs, I do hope they had enough snow to ski.
Shame about the hospital mix-up @AuntyRach, not what you need when you're so busy working. Hope it gets sorted soon.
@Badly_Maintained, a cautionary tale indeed, a big dog is the last thing your friend/neighbour needs at this stage in her life, a small one perhaps. Hope her confusion clears given time, could be just the shock of the accident.
I've been gardening today, but I got rained off this morning. Dry after lunch so I went outside again. I've finished the long border and done the front garden and planted all but 3 of the violas.
I'm going on a Peter Beales Classic Roses day workshop on Monday, lunch included. Never done that sort of thing before, looking forward to it. It will be mostly about pruning different sorts of roses. I tend to be on the timid side when pruning.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
That will be very interesting and great fun @Busy-Lizzie. I did a similar one several years ago at Hestercombe House, near Taunton. It was a 100 mile round trip though so had to get up really, really early!
