  • Oh dear @punkdoc, sleep depravation is a form of torture for a reason, I feel for you. Big hugs. xxx

    How lovely, @D0rdogne_Damsel, sounds as if your beau is going about his courtship in a very healthy and positive way!Ā
    Poor @punkdoc, so depressing for you. Are you making sure that you take daytime naps as much as you can? Will mitigate the sleep deprivation a bit. When OH has a run of bad nights, we’ll often stay awake together for a few hours, have a cup of tea and watch some trashy film on the tv. Then if we can get back to sleep, sleep in as late as we can, plus afternoon naps till things settle down. Does Moira have to get up for work or anything, or could you temporarily reorganise your routines to accommodate your current problems? Needless to say, I hope you aren’t watching the news or reading the papers at the moment. Would drive a lot of people to worse than insomnia.
    Im sleeping pretty well at the moment, but having such a lot of complicated and vivid dreams. If I do wake up after one,Ā I do have to clear my head before I can get back to sleep.
    A sunny start to the day here, so I might get out in the garden later.
    Hope all are coping otherwise.

    Thanks both.

    I am trying the things suggested, @Ergates. I am in a spare bedroom since my hip and it is not fair to move back whilst I am awake most of the night.
    I am hoping some gardening today might have a beneficial effect.

    Good morning all 😊 ā˜•ļøĀ
    @D0rdogne_Damsel   😊
    @punkdoc Ā šŸ¤—Ā

    I’m late on parade this morning … but I’ve done some physio, a laid Igbo washing is chuntering and there’s a tomato sauce simmering ready for meatballs and spaghetti tonight. The house is tidy and when I’ve drunk thus coffee I’ll be ready to take OH to work. Then hopefully it’ll be a quiet day with a film and knitting … or maybe a book … once I’ve got Wordle done … I’m struggling with this one šŸ˜–Ā

    Have a good day folks.Ā

    Morning all, forecast is for a few hours sunshine before a deluge at 1 pm so that's me sorted for gardening. We're hopefully having a tall overgrown hedge pruned on Tuesday but I need to clear out the 'stuff' behind the shed for access so that's my first job whilst its dry.

    Pleased to say that poorly brother was discharged with a catheter at 9 pm last night but obviously they are both exhausted. I'll text them later to see how they are. Stoke hospital absolutely chaotic apparently.

    Sounds good so far @D0rdogne_Damsel but please be cautious and don't rush the relationship. A week away skiing will give you a chance to stand back a bit and think.
    Hope the Singles night goes well.

    Do hope your Dad is feeling better @AuntyRach, such a worry.

    A lovely surprise bouquet @tui34.

    Our dinner last night was very good although we felt rather full by the end of it. Still managed to eat two After Eights afterwards as well!

    Right, time to get out there quick before the rain comes.

    Morning all.

    I didn't sleep well. Couldn't get comfy and had hot flushes. I thought hot flushes would have stopped at my age. GP won't give me HRT. I had it for 15 years and was far less achey on it, felt better.

    Also I kept thinking of river cruises. OH has been mentioning going on one for sometime now, but they never appealed to me. I've been doing some research and realised a river cruise does appeal, it's a big liner at sea that doesn't. They are expensive though. I really like the look of one that goes on the Danube to Budapest and Vienna. We may do it this autumn.

    I wish we could have a couple of dry days so I can finish the weeding and mulching and plant the 30 violas that I bought.

  • Morning all.
    I very much hope your Brother will make a full recovery @Lizzie27 .Ā  I was in the very same position myself a few years ago.
    Hope your cold will get better soon @tui34 . Enjoy your day off anyway.
    Very happy to hear your new relationship is continuing to go so well @D0rdogne_Damsel

    Constant light rain so far today.Ā  However this is compensated for by very light winds, and pleasantly mild temperatures.Ā  Best wishes to all - as always.

    Glad poorly brother is home @Lizzie27 šŸ‘Ā

    I just took OH to work … when I came home and put the car on the drive I got out and realised that I needed to reverse it about another metre (the parkingsensors are very ā€˜sensitive’) so got back in and started up again .., but the electronic handbrake would not switch off … NDN who was in his front garden came round to try to help but he couldn’t think what I was or wasn’t doing …? Ā I was just about to get the handbook out when it dawned on me … I hadn’t got my seatbelt on!!! Hey ho … by the time I get used to all this car’s features I’ll have to give it back. šŸ™„Ā

    Hello all, cloudy and mild so have been in the garden chopping and weeding. I've taken Penstemon cuttings as the plants haven't stopped growing all winter, so took the opportunity before cutting them back. My osteoarthritic joints are now screaming at me to stop.
    Hugs to all with poorly relatives. @punkdoc is it your hip or your overactive brain that's keeping you awake? Are you going to try Melatonin as Dove suggested?

    Glad your brother is out safe and well @Lizzie27 - though I understand those catheters can be worrisome.
    Your new beau sounds charming @D0rdogne_Damsel.Ā  You deserve to be treated with love and respect.Ā  And hats off to you for adding even more to your busy life with the walking group.
    Gawd @Dovefromabove - what a very bossy car you seem to have!
    I have developed a water infection - OH will be picking up antibiotics for me later.Ā  So not going out until they kick in.Ā  Which is a shame - there was a lunchtime concert I wanted to go to today, and a talk at our historical society this evening. Body telling me to take it a bit easier I think.Ā Ā
