Good morning @Ante1 and all to follow. Thank you for the lovely flowers 🌸 Pleasant meal last night. My turn to host next time. Hoping for a dry day tomorrow to look forward to because today will be difficult we have a very lazy and inefficient pharmacist. It’s my counter shift too.
@Busy-Lizzie hope the back continues to improve don’t overdo it.
@Songbird-2 I know the feeling when all the problems of life get in the way of just living and it’s very overwhelming. Take care of yourself as much as you can.
Hope you all have a happy Friday

    Morning all (from the CA),

It's already getting light and isn't raining :o

I should be able to sneak out for a couple of brief stints today. Don't tell anyone!

A very good morning Ante, Debs, Biglad and all arriving soon. Its a chilly start here but its dry and a bit too soon to tell what sort of a day it will turn out to be. Cricket has had his breakfast, I have my first cup of tea of the day.
Ante thank you so much for the roses. They are beautiful and bring promises of what we will be able to see later this year in our various gardens.
Thank you Snoopy Snoopy funny Snoopy pictures
Pleased you had a nice evening Debs. Hopefully it gave you time to unwind and readied you for work today.
    @Biglad, as ever,

Morning all from a rather sleepy TB. 3am alarm this morning and now sat at BA airport waiting for the 3.5hr charter flight to Ushaia (the most southerly city in the world).  We have a tour of the National Park to kill some time before boarding the ship later this afternoon.
Yesterday was very hot (it never got below 25C overnight) so instead of walking down to the market we joined a bus tour with an excellent commentary in English.

Scenes from around La Boca. A very colourful and vibrant neighbourhood, but it's also a very poor area and a dangerous area to stray from the 2 tourist streets or to visit after 6pm. Lots of tango dancers around posing for pics (for a fee of course!)

Also had a brief visit to the famous cemetery in Recoleta where Eva Peron is interred. Personally, I preferred this memorial to a young bride killed in an avalanche on her honeymoon. The dog is her favourite pet and people believe it lucky to touch his nose. All those touches have eroded the surface which is why it's a different colour.

Thank you for the roses Ante - hope mine are half as good this year!
    Have a good day everyone

    Morning all.

Thank you for the beautiful roses @Ante1.

That is a lovely graceful statue @Topbird.  It sounds an interesting trip.

My back still aches but it didn't stop me from sleeping, took painkillers.

2 couples of friends are coming to lunch today. I must clear my laptop and papers off the dining room table so that OH can set it. Setting the table is his job.

I made a Pavlova but my oven is rather over enthusiastic, I have to have it at a lower temperature for everything. Although I'd turned the heat down the Pavlova is beige and it has sunk. Never mind, the raspberries and blueberries will cover it. My French oven is the opposite, good at Pavlova but bad at pizzas.

Morning all. Sun is out but it’s bitterly cold outside. Have to pop into town to pick up a prescription and then go to SM.
We have managed to book a room at a Premier Inn for when we next visit Mum. This will be a first for us, we’ve only stopped in a Hotel once and that was when we were first married. Also next week, another first for me when I go  to the hospital and have an “infusion” of something to strengthen the bones. That takes about an hour.
Busy, I’m sure your guest will partake of your pavlova no matter the condition.🙂 Bet it tastes wonderful. Glad your back is improving.

Good afternoon all. Its been a good day today - pottering about in the garden and baking. I pulled my first rhubarb of the season and made a crumble to have at lunch time. It wasn't particularly warm so I had to keep moving. My pond is no longer under water but the mud is still quite deep and sticky around it. I definitely think now that I need to think of some form of stepping stone/flag path.
T'Bird, those are very interesting pictures and thank you for sharing them with us. I particularly like your selfie at the pedestrian crossing . Seriously, the poignant statue of the young woman accompanied by her dog is most moving. We have a statue of Sir Francis Sharp Powell, referred to locally as 'that mon int' park' in our local park whose foot is shiny compared to the rest, as all visitors rub his toe for good luck.
Busy, I hope that you had a lovely (and pain reduced) time with your friends today.
Hazel, that is a new one on me. I do hope that it isn't a painful procedure.

The Pavlova turned into an Eton Mess in the end. It was firmly stuck onto the non stick foil. The guests ate it all. I served it in pretty glasses. We had a good afternoon.
