Morning all. LB, yes the Works delivery should have come yesterday. I do sometimes pay for next day delivery and receive them so don’t know what’s gone wrong this time. Not to worry. @Ante1 what a lovely surprise for you from your sister. How nice of her to do that, those sort of moments certainly cheer you up. Hope that cold starts easing soon. I, too, don’t believe you about your nose😉😂…..unless you mean that it is really really sore and then I do! (Hope you have a nice lunch today Busy.
Ante I hope your cold goes soon . I am with the ladies , i don’t think you have a big nose . LB enjoy you time with your Bestie. Busy enjoy your lunch with friends. Hazel I haven’t paid for next day delivery on anything yet . I hope your parcel comes today. My garden screening came last night . It’s only a metre squared.I will put it up this morning .We haven’t got a green house .The work bench ,pots and tools are at the end of the garden .I want to screen them off from the rest of the garden. Have a nice day everyone .
Rubee, the screening sounds ideal for you and to provide some privacy when pottering at the table. Hope you manage to get it secured up but don’t overdo it. How is your OH doing after taking the antibiotics? Is Rosie OK? My parcel arrived this morning and after contacting The Works I have secured a refund on part of the postage costs. Another major cock-up at the GL surgery has occurred this morning but I have sorted it out myself by a bit of sleuthing and digging about and contacting different people/places. Shouldn’t have to be doing this. Im off out in the garden now.🙂
Hazel i have put the screening up it didn’t take long .I have used very strong nylon slip ties ,no nails or screws ,secured it to existing posts .OHs legs are much better thank you for asking . Rosie is ok she is quite busy . Good that you have secured a refund on part of the postage cost. You are so right you shouldn’t have to sort errors that are made by the GL surgery .Well done for sorting it .
Thanks Rubee. You’ve done a great job with the screening, should make a nice difference and shelter too. we’ve just popped out to a garden centre, felt the need for a drive out. The journey takes us through some lovely countryside and it was so pleasant. OH got a GroCage for his veg plot plus a couple of little pots of parsley. I’m got a pot of large daffodils and a purple erysimum , another White Rock, two new trailing plants for the large planter( not seen them before) and a salvia caradonna and a dwarf manutius macedonia. It was a pleasant time out.
It’s been rather a grey, dull, cold day here but at least it has remained dry so far.
What a lovely surprise from your sister @Ante1. It’s always nice to receive unexpected gifts.
We went to spend the day with my brother yesterday and had a very nice day. He’s coping reasonably well since the loss of his wife earlier this year. He’s keeping himself fairly busy, and of course his adult children call regularly to be with him as they live quite close by.
Yes, it sad news about Dave Myers. I know he’d been ill with cancer, but thought he was making a recovery. I imagine Si King will be devastated as they were like brothers.
Good afternoon all. I, too, was deeply saddened and moved to tears about the passing of Dave Myers. I had seen his return to the screen after the initial diagnosis and was hoping he was on the road to recovery. I agree with you @Red maple, I think Si will be lost without him. I used to watch all of their programmes, It brought back similar situations with the two Ronnies and Morecambe and Wise.
Hazel, I'm glad your parcel has arrived safely and that you got your partial refund. You may have told us before so sorry for asking again, what does GL mean?
Ruby, that screening sounds just the job. Well done for getting that project done.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
OH's passport with his Visa in it arrived at midday! 😁 He is so relieved, we won't have to worry about when to time our trips this year. It meant that we weren't late for lunch with our friends either.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
