Thank you @Ladybird4Β Feeling very low these last few weeks, still not sleeping much either, which doesn't help. Seeing a friend this afternoon, will be nice to see her and chat.
Rubee - a very Happy Birthday to you - hope you have a lovely dayππ₯π₯³
Debs - glad you enjoyed the film - it's on my radar.
We have a new cinema in town - one of those with small theatres and comfy armchairs and sofas where you can take a glass of wine in with you. All very civilised except that when we looked at going the other night to see Oppenheimer, the tickets were Β£16.50 each and a glass of wine was Β£9 - a total of Β£50 for 2 of us. Whatever happened to 2 seats in the one and sixpennies with a box of Maltesers? We decided to wait for it to come on TV or to rent from SKY.
It's a bit like fish and chips which used to be a cheap takeaway dinner - especially as we lived in a fishing town so there were many varieties of cheap fish available - rock (aka dogfish) was my favourite. Now f&c is a bit of a high days and holidays treat.Β
Grump over - must be getting old!
Might do some packing today.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
T'Bird I remember how we loved going to the f&c shop and getting free 'scraps', which were the little fried drips of batter from the fish. We thought these were fantastic! I dread to think what the nutritionists would make of that. Mind you I can't get my head round battered Mars bars! I just imagine a fishy flavour from the oil, permeating a perfectly acceptable chocolate bar than really doesn't need encasing in batter and deep frying!
Hazel - it worked!

Thank you so much for your good wishes friends .We are ordering a special meal from a ChineseΒ restaurant for dinner tonight. I canβt believe that I am eighty.Donβt feel much older than when I was sixty. Enjoy your day folks .xxx
Wow Ruby. That is a real milestone of a birthday. This talk of food is making me very hungry. I am being picked up at about 12:45 and I have had a peek at the menu online and more or less decided what I am going to have.
A Chinese meal sounds delicious Ruby. Will Rosie join you?

Happy birthday @Rubee. π₯³ππ₯
We had a good lunch and afternoon with our friends yesterday.
It will probably be a quiet day. There are things I want to do outside but heavy rain is forecast.
Happy birthday Rubee, hope you have a lovely day.
