    Morning all,

25 days at full pelt to go @Ladybird4. The negotiation has just started on how much clear up we all need/want after that. I've volunteered to be the first to go!!

I wouldn't have known 9 magpies. I do recall something about health and wealth? Is it a bit like the national anthem where only 1-7 is widely known and the rest is for quizzers ;)

Did a long stint at my sister's yesterday (4-5hrs). She needed a birthday gift planting but can't really dig at the moment. I also took a biggish planter over, lined it, etc. and filled it with some of my excess fruit plants. She's hoping to be making jam at some point. It sounds like her regular maintenance gardener has gone off the radar so I might have found out what I'm going to be doing with my work-free summer :D

    Morning all.

No frost this morning but it's windy.

The block paving for our front path is being delivered today. I must move my car. The handyman is going to replace our crumbling front path. Oh good - OH has moved my car.

I have some shopping to do and food prep as friends are coming to lunch tomorrow.

Good morning all. Grey and cold here but dry and no frost at least. Work in a bit, wonder what will be the topic of conversation?
I am thinking of a new job but every idea I get has drawbacks, too tiring, too boring etc, then I realised that if I was choosing again I would never pick my present job but I have mostly enjoyed it, humans are very adaptable aren’t they? I feel sorry for one of my colleagues she has been bullied in the past and clearly feels she has found a haven in our little team and is very worried about change.
Hope you continue to feel better @Ante1
Hope you get your kiss @Ladybird4

Have had the morning telephone appointment from the doctors surgery. I was shattered after it so am going to have a quiet day.
I am worn out Rubee but thanks for asking.

@Songbird-2 that doesn’t sound good. Take care of yourself, maybe a little treat. Hope your day improves.

Good afternoon all. Been a reasonable day today so more stuff waiting to go into the green bin. I will do that tomorrow after I have been to the nursery with my friend again. She is after some roses this time around.
I am quizzing tonight and this time it is my turn to be Quiz Master so at least I won't have to worry about not knowing stuff
Hazel, I hope that you are feeling less harried now. I have to start taking a week's worth of BP readings again - having waited a month as advised. I will just drop these off at the surgery (or post them) when they are done.
Debs, I'm sure that the downsizing is going to be almost the total topic of conversation until the final announcements are made. I had a little play bite from Cricket and I'll just have to make do with that as my 'kiss' until later!
@Biglad, you are now a handy brother to your sis! Make sure that she makes a pot of your favourite jam for you when the time - and fruit - are right.
T'bird, I hope that the hair appointment goes through this time - mine is on Thursday.
I am signing out for this evening. Going to get my fingers working - don't need to worry about the brain being in gear! See you all tomorrow.

The block pavers have been delivered and G the handyman came round with path photos. He's going to do herringbone.

I've made salmon paté, chicken casserole and lemon tart for tomorrow's lunch and beef casserole for tonight, just need to add dumplings.

A very good morning one and all.
Busy, it will be nice watching your new path emerging. What colour block pavers have you gone for? Your meal sounds delicious. Are these the friends who couldn't come the other week?
We won last night so were happy bunnies and I enjoyed my first stint at being question master. It was a bit frustrating though as there were questions on plants, food and birds where I would have been in my element! Off to the nursery this morning. I'm picking my friend up at 09:00.

    Morning all.

Well done your team, LB, but am I right in thinking that you couldn't join them as you were question master? They sound the sort of questions that I like too but rarely get in a pub quiz.

The friends, 3 couples, who are coming to lunch aren't the ones who couldn't come to stay because she was ill. It's a Lent charity lunch to help provide a water supply for a remote college. The guests all give £10 each. They are all friends from church. There will be several lunches given by various people in aid of the charity.

I had hot flushes in the night and didn't sleep well. I still get them sometimes since my GP took me off HRT. I was on it for 15 years and felt better with it, less arthritic.

Morning all. Cold wet and miserable here. Hope @Ante1 cold is subsiding, my daughter has a chest infection now, Must be bugs going around again.

Busy, I still  get hot flushes too, they are the pits aren’t they? I thought they eased after going through the change but no, they still hang around.

Car is in for its test and service today so won’t see that again until this evening. Too cold to go out on bikes so a quiet day ahead for us.

Mums house has finally completed, contracts signed etc and everything  done and dusted now. It officially belongs to someone else now. It will be very odd when we next visit not being able to go  home to the old homestead. Have found alternative accommodation about 7 miles away from mum, a Premier Inn, to stay in when we do go. That will be weird too. Life is full of changes.

Have a nice time in go today LB, wonder if you will pick up day thing?
