..... So that's the Lake District in June and the Danube in October. Can't catch up with @Topbird though!
    😂Ha ha @Busy-Lizzie - yes you'll have to run faster than that!🥳
Already have several things planned for this year and have even pencilled in a tour of Vietnam for Feb 2026! (not available to book yet). Nothing like thinking ahead is there?

We are certainly doing a lot of travelling at the moment. You never know what's around the corner and, at the moment, we have the time, there are few committments, we can still get travel insurance for a good rate and are fortunate to not yet have to plan holidays around medical appointments. That situation will almost certainly change at some stage in the future and it's probably not that distant. Definitely doing a bit of Carpe Diem-ing!

I am very tempted by one of those river cruises (and the Danube would be my first choice - it's beautiful). We can have nearly the same experience using the camper van and bikes but there is something very special about being on the water.

This time in 3 weeks we should be boarding the internal charter flight to take us from Buenos Aires to Ushaia where we board our ship. Feeling excited and trepidatious in equal measure. Still not sure if I'm really looking forward to spending several days in Buenos Aires but, if needs be, I can just find a quiet corner and settle down with a huge pile of empanadas, dulche de leche ice cream and a few bottles of the local Malbec😎

Sounds as though Cricket is very very happy in his new home LB. I remember the first time Harry made it to the ridge tiles of the steeply pitched roof on our two storey house. He found a route via a fence, porch, lower roof and then a whole load of scrambling. It became his favourite vantage point till he got a bit older - but it was heart in mouth watching him scramble up the tiles!

Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down

    I'm counting today as done @Ladybird4 ;) - 30!

The lightest of rain this morning - that fine stuff that wets you through (was that a Peter Kay line?). Might get a brief stint out there before it goes dark...

I remember 'It's spittin'. It's spittin'. from that famous Peter Kay sketch about the children's playground @Biglad. I can always laugh at him - joyous!

Have been able to do a bit of gardening this afternoon as the sun came out and it was quite pleasant out. Have had to stake up the freesias as they are so tall the leaves are falling over. Planted out a Tumbling Ted in the large planter and found homes for the other two. Have found another spot to fill with a foxglove…they’re going down😂 Then a bit of sorting out.

It has rained all day here. I went down to my compost bin this morning and I was unnerved by the depth of the mud and the fact that I was slipping and sliding all the way. I wish I could estimate how long it will be before I can actually do some gardening at the bottom end of the garden. Very discouraging. Hey ho. Hopefully there will be some nicer weather soon.
I am signing out for tonight everyone. See you all in the morning.

It didn't rain today, was quite mild and pleasant, but I didn't manage to do any gardening. OH wanted to go to the other town for something, also BeenQ, so I went with him. I wanted more violas but they only had bright yellow so we went to a GC.  :) That always take a while  :D

Then I spent a while chatting to friends on the phone and inviting people to lunch.

Our bathroom light pull switch has gone, again. OH has recently put in a new one. Think we will get an electrician out and get a proper push on push off, normal socket switch put on on the wall outside the bathroom. ( we had that arrangement in old house….regulations for bathroom safety). OH must have put on half a dozen new pull switches since we’ve been here. Getting tiresome now.
Busy, any new goodies found their way into your basket in the GC?😂
LB, that sounds quite dangerous in the part of the garden near your compost bin. I wonder if there is any way you could set something up to divert the water elsewhere to drain away? 🧐🤔

Nice, Busy. Wish we could grow lupine but have never succeeded. The violas should provide for a nice display, my mum’s favourite plant.
Signing out for today. Night all.

Can’t sleep so have come down for a cuppa. I know it’s not that late but I have  a feeling this is going to be a long night. I’m so tired too. I’m quite cold too so maybe do myself a hot water bottle.
